[Convenience Store Lunchbox Review] CU ‘Hankkiman Jok Bulbaek Hansang’ (in Korean ‘한끼만족 불백한상’)

Hello! Today, I am introducing CU’s new lunchbox menu, which is part of the One Meal Satisfaction series, called One Meal Satisfaction Bulgogi Set! Since the Je-yuk Set has already been released in the One Meal Satisfaction series, it seems quite natural for the Bulgogi Set to come out! After parting ways with CEO Baek Jong-won, CU has been continuously introducing various menus under the One Meal Satisfaction series! It seems like this one was released with a similar vibe! Let’s check out what kind of menu it is!

Convenience Store Lunchbox Visual Analysis

CU One Meal Satisfaction Bulgogi Set Price and Features

It seems that CU’s basic menu lineup has mostly shifted from Baek Jong-won and Hanpan series to One Meal Satisfaction. Except for some instant foods or ramen, it’s now hard to find products related to CEO Baek Jong-won at CU. Indeed, it’s hard to predict how things will turn out in the world. Anyway, they have released a Bulgogi menu following the Je-yuk lunchbox!

Convenience Store Je-yuk Set Comparison Analysis

The name Bulgogi Set reminds one of the Bulgogi Hanpan, and its composition gives a similar feel to the Je-yuk Set previously seen at CU. The price is 5,200 won, which is relatively reasonable by current standards, and the portion seems adequate.

Convenience Store Lunchbox Meat Quality

The total content is 424g, and the calorie count is 694Kcal, which corresponds to 68% of the daily recommended sodium intake. The price and calorie count are quite basic. The soy sauce bulgogi is said to be made with imported pork shoulder.

CU One Meal Satisfaction Bulgogi Set Components

Let’s briefly check the composition! This menu consists of a total of five side dishes, with the main dish being soy sauce bulgogi, and four side menus included. Overall, except for one side menu, the composition is the same as the previous Je-yuk Set menu.

First of all, the portion of the Bulgogi lunchbox is very large. Although it may not be the perfect Bulgogi taste with thick meat, it has the visual that comes to mind when thinking of convenience store Bulgogi, so it doesn’t feel like a big loss! Plus, the price is reasonable! Haha

CU Convenience Store Lunchbox Composition Review

The side menu includes stir-fried kimchi, pumpkin salad, Vienna sausage and rolled omelet, and stir-fried fish cake. If you separate the Vienna sausage and rolled omelet, it’s a 6-side dish composition, and if you see them together, it’s a 5-side dish composition. When Je-yuk stir-fry is the main, soy sauce fish cake stir-fry is provided, but this time, since soy sauce bulgogi is the main, gochujang fish cake stir-fry is included. Such a meticulous difference!?

Additionally, the lunchbox composition is very basic and familiar, and it is almost similar to its sibling menu, the Je-yuk Set menu. Simply put, it’s a very common composition, which means it’s a basic composition that’s hard to fail.

CU Bulgogi Set One Meal Satisfaction Taste

Let’s taste it right away to check the flavor. I started by tasting the main side dish this time as well!

CU One Meal Satisfaction Price Comparison

As expected from a convenience store pork bulgogi, the meat used is very finely and thinly cut. It uses shoulder meat with a high lean meat ratio, but this menu is not one to judge by meat quality. However, the relatively large portion and the salty soy sauce-based seasoning seem to easily offset such issues.

This menu is a meal for the hungry and weary soul. It’s a lunchbox that fills you up based on convenience store bulgogi, where it’s hard to distinguish whether the sauce is teriyaki or soy sauce. It’s definitely that kind of lunchbox. After finishing it, you still think it was delicious, haha.

Convenience Store Lunchbox Meal Choice

Since I almost checked the side menu last time, there’s not much to evaluate, and overall, it can be concluded that it pairs well with the main side dish. It was enjoyable without any particularly jarring or unusual side dishes!

Looking at both this menu and the previous one, it reminds me of the 5,000 won Happiness Menu that CU released for college students in the past. Although this menu doesn’t explicitly show the concept, it has a somewhat similar feel. If you want to solve a meal with reasonable value and decent taste, it’s a menu you can enjoy satisfactorily!
