Hello! Today, I am introducing a new lunchbox menu from GS25, a cost-effective menu released as part of the 3900 won lunchbox lineup, the 3900 Iron Plate Stir-fry Set. Not long ago, I reviewed the Western Set as the first menu in the 3900 lunchbox lineup from GS25! This menu seems to be a combination of iron plate stir-fried noodles and a few other items, making it a somewhat full-course meal. Let’s check out what this menu is all about!

Price and Features of GS25 3900 Iron Plate Stir-fry Set
GS25 has been actively introducing the value lunchbox lineup recently, so I was curious if a new menu would come out after the 3900 Western Set, and it was released faster than expected. With the ongoing lunchflation issue, it seems GS25 had no choice but to quickly release cost-effective lunchboxes. I’m just grateful…

The price of this menu is 3,900 won and it is composed of iron plate stir-fried noodles, tteokgalbi, fried rice, pork cutlet, and stir-fried kimchi. Also, if you reserve through the GS25 app, you can get up to a 10% discount… I bought it directly from the convenience store, so I didn’t get the discount!

The total content of this menu is 322g, with a calorie count of 539Kcal, and sodium is at 82% of the daily recommended intake. Considering the price, the calorie count is sufficient, but the sodium content is higher than expected, making it taste a bit salty. It seems that the yakisoba sauce contains a lot of sodium.

Components of GS25 3900 Iron Plate Stir-fry Set
Let’s briefly check the composition. As you saw earlier, this menu is somewhat a full-course meal, with a total of 4 side dishes and added fried rice!

The main dish is, of course, the iron plate stir-fried noodles, this yakisoba. It’s a bit lacking to call it real yakisoba, but it seems they managed to match the setup to some extent by adding scallions and onions to the noodles with sauce!

And this tteokgalbi seems to be the one included in the generous full-course lunchbox. It’s placed appropriately on top of the fried rice, and it seems perfect to cut and eat with the rice! Additionally, half a frozen pork cutlet and stir-fried kimchi are included.

As you can see from the overall composition, the key seems to be this yakisoba! If the composition is appropriately set and the taste is reasonably good, the cost-effectiveness would be unparalleled!

Taste of GS25 3900 Iron Plate Stir-fry Set
Let’s taste it right away! We should first try the main dish of this menu! After cooking it in the microwave, I stirred it once to mix the sauce and noodles well, and then took a bite right away!

Looking at the noodles, I wondered if they might be pasta noodles, but they used fresh wheat noodles for yakisoba. With so many deceptive menus these days, I couldn’t help but be suspicious… The sauce used was the commonly available yakisoba sauce from the market, so there was nothing much to criticize about the taste! It felt like the kind of taste you get when you make it simply at home!

The tteokgalbi, being a frozen product, had a fairly plain taste, but since it was a menu with a teriyaki sauce aroma added to the yakisoba, it felt a bit excessive. Still, it was good to eat with rice!

The pork cutlet and stir-fried kimchi should be considered simple side dishes. The fried rice, personally, made me wonder if it was actually fried, as it only had a slightly seasoned taste, and didn’t really give the impression of being fried rice. You can just eat the rice and other side dishes without much fuss.

In my personal opinion, it was a fairly plain and cost-effective menu to enjoy. Since it was released cheaply in response to lunchflation, rather than having high expectations for the taste, it was a menu you could enjoy with the feeling of simply filling your stomach.
