[Hamburger Review] Burger King – Double Original Cheese Maximum

Hello! Today, we have Burger King’s Stacker menu released after a long time! Double Original Cheese Maximum. It’s a Stacker menu released 4 months after the Shrimp Maximum, which was launched with 7 whole shrimps and 4 patties! You can think of it as Burger King’s massive volume cheese Whopper Stacker version that returns every season, ignoring cost-effectiveness! The visual is very hefty! More famously known as the Choo Sung-hoon Burger, the Double Original Cheese! Let’s check out how it tastes right away?!

Size Selection Advice Information

Burger King Double Original Cheese Maximum Price and Features

Recently, with the opening of steak stores, Burger King’s Stacker menu has been released after a long time, featuring Choo Sung-hoon, who has emerged as the core model for franchise meat-related menus. As with all Burger King Stacker menus, this menu also has separate versions with 2, 3, and 4 (Maximum) patties + cheese! For reference, one Whopper patty is a quarter pound (1/4), so they named it One Pounder because it has 4 patties!

And as expected from a Stacker menu, the price is quite significant! This menu starts at 10,500 won for Maximum2 / 13,900 won for Maximum3 / 16,900 won for One Pounder Maximum! / The combo menu is a whopping 18,900 won. For delivery, add 1,000 won to each item, and the delivery price for One Pounder Maximum is 17,900 won / the combo menu is 20,400 won. Given the quantity, it’s enough for two people, but the price for a combo menu is quite astonishing!

Burger King Double Original Cheese Maximum Composition

Shall we check the composition!? Even before unwrapping, the meat juices and melted cheese were oozing out of the wrapper! The visual is indeed impressive. This heftiness is a feature of Burger King’s Stacker menu!

It looks very similar to the Whopper Stacker menu released 4-5 years ago! Of course, it’s not just a stack of cheese Whoppers.

Burger Size Recommendation Information

The melted cheese is quite impressive… Even though it was delivered, the burger was still warm due to the slightly humid weather and the temperature of the patties.

Shall we cut it in half to check the composition more clearly!? After cutting, the stacked 4 patties are much more visible. Even though regular Whoppers are used, the amount of juice trapped in the second and third patties is quite substantial.

The difference from the previous Stacker Whopper is that this time, instead of the usual mayonnaise sauce, they used smoky mustard sauce! The ketchup is located under the vegetables.

Hamburger Slicing Process

The vegetables include lettuce, onion, and pickles, and unlike the Whopper Stacker, there seems to be no tomato. For reference, you can change the onion to grilled onion, so keep that in mind!

Burger King Double Original Cheese Maximum Taste

Now that we’ve thoroughly examined the hefty composition, let’s taste it right away. Even when such a 4-layer Stacker menu was released before, I usually only tried the 2-layer or 3-layer menu, but it’s been a while since I tried the full version! Can I really eat it?!

One thing is for sure, the impact is incredibly strong even with just one bite. Regular Whoppers become dry and difficult to eat when they cool down, but this one is surprisingly greasy and has a softer taste because the patties are stacked and retain the juices. This isn’t limited to this menu; most Stackers are like this!

Franchise Burger Market Analysis

And rather than the unique taste of the Whopper, the combination of smoky mustard sauce and cheese strongly enhances the salty flavor! Compared to ‘Blyangyang’ or ‘Super Meat Freak’, the cheddar slice cheese between each layer plays a significant role.

Convenient Hamburger Delivery Information

Overall, it’s very hefty, and while it’s close to a Whopper, the sauce and pickles somewhat compensate for the limitations of a Whopper, making it feel more like eating a very hefty cheese burger than a Whopper. It’s salty, greasy, and absolutely great! (Is it really great…?)

However, one issue is that as I unwrapped it and ate it, it started to cool down and the juices flowed, making it dry towards the end. It’s definitely heavy to eat alone, and I got a bit tired of it… I tried to eat it slowly with digestive enzymes and even a knife and fork, but I had to leave a few pieces at the end. It’s such a filling menu that you could eat just this all day, so rather than being too greedy, I recommend considering the cost-effectiveness (if there is any) and eating a size you can handle at a nearby store.
