Hello! Today, I would like to introduce Ottogi’s new ramen menu, Spicy Squid Stir-fried Noodles. Recently, quite a few squid-related menus have been released in the ‘The Gourmet’ series! It was a collaboration menu with the Squid Game, but this Ottogi menu is a bit confusing as to which of the two it was inspired by, haha! Still, since it’s Ottogi, I think it won’t lack in basic taste! Let’s check out what it tastes like right away!

Ottogi Spicy Squid Stir-fried Noodles Price and Features

When I first saw it released, I thought it was a variation of the ‘Yeol Ramen’ because of the typography of the word ‘spicy’! Now I see that the two menus are completely unrelated, and this menu is a stir-fried cup noodle released with the concept of spicy and sweet seasoning full of squid flavor. The selling price at convenience stores is 1,900 won!

This ramen is the type recommended for microwave cooking! It is the type that you mix without draining the water. Recently, it has been a common type seen in ‘Neoguri Stir-fried Noodles’! Of course, it can also be cooked with boiling water! In that case, you must drain the water!

When cooking in the microwave, just pour water and cook for 3 minutes and 30 seconds at 1000W, then add the liquid sauce and mix! When cooking with boiling water, add boiling water and cook for 4 minutes, then drain the water, add the sauce, and mix. Is that all?

Since it’s such a simple cup noodle, the content weight is 110g, the calorie count is 450Kcal, and the sodium level is 59% of the daily recommended intake. Ottogi Spicy Squid Stir-fried Noodles Composition and Cooking

Let’s check the composition and start cooking right away. The composition consists of only two items: noodles and liquid sauce.

I wondered if there were any additional ingredients, so I looked inside the noodles, but it seems there are no additional ingredients. Well, this is similar to ‘Paldo Bibim Men’, so let’s leave it at that… Still, I think it would be a menu worth adding at least some green onions, which is quite surprising.

The cooking method is very simple. When cooking in the microwave, you only need to pour a little water up to the indicated line, and you don’t need to drain the water! Just add the sauce and mix, and you’re done.

No particular taste is overwhelming or stands out more than others, and it feels like the squid version of ‘Buldak Stir-fried Noodles’… It is slightly less spicy than that, but the sweet and spicy taste is the main point of this menu.

Like ‘Paldo Bibim Men’ or ‘Buldak Stir-fried Noodles’, this menu seems to be positioned to rely solely on the sauce taste without any prominent ingredients. The lack of ingredients doesn’t particularly feel like a disadvantage, but it does feel a bit empty, haha.

Still, the expected taste was deliciously implemented, and since it’s moderately spicy, it seems good to pair with various items like triangle kimbap or eggs. It’s a menu that can be a break when you’re slightly tired of ‘Buldak Stir-fried Noodles’, haha.

Personally, I found it quite tasty, but I’m not sure about others. Since I quite like seafood ramen, I also like squid jjampong, but this has a slightly stronger aroma than that, haha. If you’ve been waiting for a mixed noodle with squid and seafood flavor, I think you’ll find it surprisingly delicious!
