Features and Price of the Corn Melting Burger
This menu is said to have a soft and rich flavor that stands out with the combination of savory ham and cheese and sweet corn sauce! Additionally, the crispy yet moist crispy chicken unique to Popeyes is added to enhance the taste! Looking at this combination, it seems more like a sandwich than a hamburger!
The price for the Corn Melting Burger delivery is 9,000 won for a single item and 12,000 won for a set. For the Chuseok holiday, they are selling 1-person, 2-person, and family sets together. The set menu includes various items such as smoked mustard boneless, Cajun fries, egg tart, and crunchy crab. For reference, the 2-person set is not two burgers but a burger and a chicken wrap for two people, and the family set is for four people with two burgers and two chicken wraps. I ordered the Chuseok feast 2-person set, and the price is 23,000 won.
Composition of the Corn Melting Burger
Shall we take a quick look at the composition? The menu composition is similar to a simple chicken sandwich, so you can clearly see what ingredients are included even from the side!
When you turn it around, it looks like this. Even from the side, you can see the chicken patty, melted cheese, and thick sauce! It definitely looks more like a sandwich than a hamburger! Haha
Let’s cut it in half and take a closer look at the components. First, Korean Popeyes uses chicken thigh meat instead of chicken breast for the basic chicken patty, so it’s a bit smaller in width, right? However, compared to franchises like McDonald’s or Burger King that use frozen chicken patties, the chicken patties from Popeyes or KFC, which use freshly fried patties, are incomparable!
From the side, you can see the ham and cheese and corn sauce better. The sauce is generously spread on the top and bottom of the bun, so you can feel the savory yet slightly sweet taste strongly. The composition is very simple, so there doesn’t seem to be much more to see!
Looking at the Chuseok feast 2-person set composition, it includes the main Corn Melting Burger, two pieces of smoked mustard boneless, a chicken wrap, a deep crunch egg tart, two pieces of crunchy crab, medium Cajun fries, and two colas. The chicken wrap and drinks can be changed, but the other items are fixed. It seems like you need to yield the chicken or tart to the person eating the chicken wrap to match the quantity. Haha
Taste of the Corn Melting Burger
Shall we taste it now!? Since the base is a bit sweet, I was worried it might be a bit greasy or overwhelming! I took a bite right away.
The initial taste was not as sweet as expected, and the savory taste of corn was quite strong in the sauce! It’s slightly sweet but not overwhelming, and it harmonizes with the cheese, ham, and chicken patty, giving it a bit of a sandwich-like feel. Haha
And the chicken patty is beyond words. The juicy thigh meat has a different texture from frozen patties. The batter is a bit crispier than KFC, giving it a distinctly different feel!
The salty taste of ham and cheese and the seasoned Cajun chicken patty made it a non-overwhelming taste. However, some might find it greasy due to the lack of vegetables, a bit of spiciness, or pickles. Still, thanks to the mild taste, it seems like kids could enjoy it well, and personally, if you like chicken sandwiches, you might find it quite satisfying!
Trying it as a Chuseok set, it was really filling, and it was nice to enjoy it with a variety of menus! It wasn’t a huge amount, but it seemed more than enough for two people to eat.
