[K-food] ‘Geupsikdaega’ Ham Bomb Set Meal CU

Hello! Today, I’m introducing CU’s new lunchbox menu, the new “Gupsik Daega Ham Bomb Set Meal,” which is part of the rapidly released Gupsik Daega series. This menu is an original offering from CU! The composition is quite simple, but the concept is strong enough to catch my attention! If you love ham, you should definitely try it! So, let’s find out what this menu is all about!

Price and Features of Gupsik Daega Ham Bomb Set Meal

This is a new menu from the Gupsik Daega series, which is now more widely distributed than the Baek Jong-won series, as one of the main lineups of CU convenience store lunchboxes. This menu uniquely features the concept of being ‘filled with premium ham made with Gupsik Daega’s secret recipe.’ Could it be using homemade ham?

The price of this menu is 4,900 won, with a total content weight of 344g and a calorie count of 695Kcal. The sodium content is about 66% of the daily recommended intake. The slightly high calorie count compared to the content weight seems to be due to the inclusion of various types of ham in one menu!

Composition of Gupsik Daega Ham Bomb Set Meal

Let’s take a quick look at the composition. Like other recently released Gupsik Daega menus, this menu also includes Skittles jelly! For reference, there is only one piece in a bag.

At first glance, the composition seems to be the simplest among the convenience store lunchboxes I’ve seen so far, and negatively, it might look like the most insincere combination. However, the concept is clear! It reminds me of the side dish combinations I used to eat when I lived alone. There are a total of 5 side dishes and 2 types of sauces!

Spam Chicken Breast Taste Review

The sausages are a unique combination of chicken breast spam, pink sausage (nostalgic sausage), and Vienna sausage. Regardless of taste preferences, it’s rare to eat three types of ham at once! Haha

Looking at the ham composition alone, it’s chicken breast, but it also includes spam. I can’t figure out what the premium ham recipe made with Gupsik Daega’s secret recipe means. Could this combination itself be the secret recipe…

Other side dishes include rolled omelet and stir-fried kimchi. This combination is often seen in other convenience store lunchbox menus, right? The sauces provided are ketchup and honey mustard! Even after tasting them, there’s nothing special, so I can’t figure out what the secret recipe is.

Taste of Gupsik Daega Ham Bomb Set Meal

Let’s start the tasting right away. Since all three main side dishes are processed foods, the taste seems predictable!

Lunchbox Price Comparison Information

The taste of chicken breast spam is exactly as expected. For those who enjoy it crispy, grilled until slightly charred, the cooking method might be a bit disappointing! Compared to regular spam, the taste is slightly milder, making it suitable to eat with rice. It doesn’t particularly need any sauce.

As for the other hams, there’s no need to mention them; just alternate between dipping them in ketchup and honey mustard when you feel like it!

It’s not that it doesn’t taste good, but it’s quite ordinary, so there wasn’t any particular impression. It just feels like eating a meal made entirely of ham! If you like this combination, you might surprisingly enjoy it.

The side menu items, rolled omelet and stir-fried kimchi, are commonly seen in convenience store lunchboxes, so the combination was easy to eat without much thought!

Convenience Store Meal Value Review

Overall, the side dish composition is quite plain, so it’s a menu that you can finish quickly without much thought. I found myself finishing it before I knew it! Although the sodium content is low, the aftertaste is slightly salty, so having jelly as a dessert might be a good idea!
