[K-food] Golden Mozza Katsu Burger No Brand Burger

Hello! Today, I am introducing No Brand’s new burger menu, the Golden Mozza Katsu Burger. True to No Brand’s reputation for unique menus, they have once again released a very distinctive menu! Although there have been hamburger menus with tonkatsu before, this time they have launched a menu with a tonkatsu set concept, adding a whole mozzarella patty. Let’s find out what this menu is all about.

Golden Mozza Katsu Burger Price and Features

Released this October and officially promoted in November, No Brand Burger’s Golden Katsu lineup includes the Golden Katsu with tonkatsu and the Golden Mozza Katsu with an added whole mozzarella patty. The Golden Mozza Katsu is gaining more attention, so I decided to review it!

The price is 7,200 won for a single item and 9,200 won for a set at the store. For delivery, it’s priced at 8,200 won for a single item and 10,200 won for a set. Although the price might seem high, it is quite reasonable for a single item at the store, true to No Brand Burger’s value for money. Especially during the SSG Day event, you can enjoy discounts and free set upgrades, so keep that in mind!

Composition of the Golden Mozza Katsu Burger

Let’s take a quick look at the composition. This menu includes a thick katsu patty and a whole mozzarella patty, making it quite thick compared to a regular tonkatsu. Among the burgers released by No Brand Burger, it ranks quite high in thickness!

Looking at the simple composition, the most noticeable elements are the simple vegetables made of lettuce and onion, and the thick golden katsu patty and whole mozzarella patty! A sesame bun is simply used for the burger bun.

One of the main features of this menu is the special tonkatsu sauce prepared for the Golden Katsu Burger. Although the amount is not large, it seems to be enough to drizzle on top. Since some people prefer to dip their sauce lightly, it shouldn’t be a big problem!

To examine the detailed composition, you should cut it in half, right? Although the menu is quite tall, there was no significant difficulty in cutting it in half! Haha.

When cut in half, the most noticeable part is definitely the patty! You can see that the patty is filled with meat inside the crispy fried exterior. However, it seems that the meat used is not fresh meat but ground meat. Still, the visual of the cheese stretching from the whole mozzarella patty is very satisfying!

Overall, the flavor from the combination of the two patties and vegetables seems to capture the feel of a professional set meal well. Additionally, the mayo sauce used in the vegetables is said to be a special mustard mayo, which makes it even more exciting!

Taste of the Golden Mozza Katsu Burger

Let’s taste it to see what it tastes like. Due to its thickness, it was a bit difficult to take a full bite to fully experience the flavor!

When looking at the katsu patty alone, it is not comparable to a tonkatsu made with fresh meat, but for a burger, the taste was quite good. It would have been better if the chewy texture of fresh meat katsu was added, but since it’s a value-for-money menu, you might have to consider this aspect!

Still, the combination of whole mozzarella cheese and the appropriately flavored tonkatsu sauce made the taste quite good overall. It might seem a bit greasy if eaten alone, so they used mustard mayo sauce instead of regular mayo, which helped to counteract the greasiness with a hint of wasabi when eaten with vegetables.

Of course, depending on the person, the wasabi flavor might be unexpectedly noticeable. Since pairing katsu with wasabi is more of a personal preference, it might be a bit disappointing that you can’t choose this as an option!

Still, being able to enjoy a hearty meal set for around 10,000 won makes it an excellent choice for a meal, and since the overall taste of this menu was good, it was a menu I could recommend without feeling like I didn’t get my money’s worth. The crispy quality of the patty and the lack of greasiness made me finish one quickly while reviewing.

There might be slight differences in preference, but if you don’t have a strong aversion to mustard (wasabi) flavor and want to enjoy mozzarella cheese that stretches and a sauce that pairs well with tonkatsu, this menu might be quite enjoyable for you! The crispy patty was quite appealing!
