Hello! Today, I am introducing a new lunchbox menu from 7-Eleven, which is part of the Over Limit series: Over Limit Uiseong Garlic Ham & Gochujang Crispy Bulgogi. It seems like 7-Eleven is subtly promoting the Over Limit series, as new menus that didn’t exist before are continuously being introduced! This time, it seems to have been released with a decent composition and good cost-effectiveness! Shall we check out what kind of menu it is?

Price and Features of Uiseong Garlic Ham & Gochujang Crispy Bulgogi
With the concept of ‘a different dimension of composition,’ 7-Eleven is subtly targeting the cost-effectiveness market with this new Over Limit menu, which includes Uiseong garlic, as expected from Lotte. ㅎㅎ It feels like the Uiseong garlic menu is always included as a rite of passage whenever a new lineup of lunchboxes is released at 7-Eleven! The price of this menu is 4,900 won, which is slightly cheaper than the previous cafeteria-style crispy bulgogi!

The total weight of this menu is 381g, and the calorie content is 755Kcal, with sodium at 62% of the daily recommended intake. The calorie content is quite high compared to the quantity or price! It seems that the calorie content is somewhat high because it includes ham-related items as well as bulgogi and frozen products.

Composition of Uiseong Garlic Ham and Gochujang Crispy Bulgogi
Let’s take a quick look at the composition. This menu is composed of 6 side dishes in 5 compartments, with 4 of them being processed foods. Recently, there is a trend of increasing compositions filled with processed foods, and for a simple meal, this price and composition seem to be reasonably satisfying. ㅎㅎ

The menu consists of the main dish, gochujang bulgogi, 2 slices of Uiseong garlic ham, and 1 sausage. As side dishes, there are 2 pieces each of stir-fried kimchi, meat skewer, and mini pork cutlet.

Although the pork is said to be from the U.S., the specific part is not mentioned, so it seems likely that shoulder or hind leg meat was used. It’s not the type with a lot of sauce, and since it’s stir-fried until crispy, it seems that not much broth will come out even if cooked in a microwave.

The ham is called a whole grill wiener, but it doesn’t seem to be the Uiseong garlic ham product. If it were, it would have been indicated somewhere! ㅋㅋ However, the pressed ham is proudly labeled as Uiseong garlic ham. The sides are composed of stir-fried kimchi, meat skewer, and mini pork cutlet, which I think is a fairly decent composition.

Taste of Uiseong Garlic Ham & Gochujang Crispy Bulgogi
Let’s taste it right away! After cooking, the gochujang bulgogi looks even more delicious with the oil glistening on it! Let’s start with the main dish, shall we!?

The taste of the gochujang bulgogi was quite similar to the typical taste of gochujang pork stir-fry. ㅎㅎ I think it would taste as expected if you try it! It’s not particularly spicy or salty, and it’s a suitable taste to eat with rice. The portion size is also appropriate, which is quite nice!

The ham tastes just like Uiseong garlic ham! As it’s a pride of Lotte, it fits well in any 7-Eleven lunchbox. It’s very suitable to eat with rice too! ㅋㅋ I thought the mini pork cutlet would have a spicy pork cutlet sauce, but it used something like a seasoned chicken sauce!

The meat skewer tastes just like the typical convenience store meat skewer with a full teriyaki flavor. Overall, it’s a salty and well-seasoned lunchbox, so if you eat it without thinking, the rice goes down smoothly! ㅎㅎ

While the impressions may vary for each person, I was more drawn to the gochujang bulgogi than the Uiseong garlic ham in this menu. Considering the recent prices of convenience store lunchboxes, the quality seemed quite good for a menu under 5,000 won.

The Lotte ham-related products also suited my taste quite well, making it a menu I personally enjoyed. If you don’t mind that most of the menu consists of processed foods, it was a menu that you could enjoy heartily and deliciously!
