[K-food] Holiday Big ZIP Lunchbox Emart24

Hello! Today, I will introduce Emart24’s Chuseok special lunchbox menu, the Holiday Big.ZIP Lunchbox. It’s a multi-dish lunchbox that compresses the holiday table setting into one concept! It seems that Emart24 put a lot of effort into this lunchbox for this holiday, so I bought it right away. Although the review is a bit late, shall we check out what kind of menu it is right now?

Price and Features of the Holiday Big.ZIP Lunchbox

This menu was specially released just before the Chuseok holiday, but it was not available for reservation until October 8, so I could only purchase it on October 8. Anyway, I intend to review it, focusing on the significance of having tried various convenience store lunchboxes during this holiday. It seems it might be sold until mid-October! The price is 6,900 won.

The total content is 454g, with a calorie count of 723Kcal, and sodium is at 72% of the daily recommended intake. It’s somewhat hefty for the price, and the calorie count is quite high, making it very sufficient for a meal. Also, it uses 2025 Nonghyup new rice, so the concept is clear!

Holiday BigZIP Lunchbox Composition

Let’s take a look at the menu composition. This menu consists of a total of 12 side dishes, with 2 main dishes and 10 side dishes. It includes a variety of meats, vegetables, and pancakes, following the principles of a traditional table setting well.

The two main dishes appear to be Japchae and Soy Sauce Bulgogi! The Japchae seems to be the best-composed among the convenience store lunchboxes released this time! It includes carrots, mushrooms, and meat evenly. The Bulgogi seems to have a rather saucy style!

Various Pancake Lunchbox Taste

The pancakes consist of meat pancakes, kimchi pancakes, chive pancakes, and two round pancakes. The meat pancake is not just a simple meat pancake but a chicken breast tofu pancake, so I’m quite curious about the taste!

The vegetables are well-composed with bellflower root, spinach, and bracken, but these days they are often replaced with rapeseed or radish greens! Other side dishes include stir-fried potato strips and stir-fried kimchi.

And the one next to the bellflower root doesn’t seem to be salted seafood, but I guess I’ll have to taste it to know. Seeing that dried shrimp is included in the ingredient list, it might be stir-fried dried shrimp!

Taste of the Holiday BigZIP Lunchbox

Now that we’ve checked the menu composition, let’s start tasting right away. With a variety of side dishes, it seems like it will be fun to savor the taste while eating!

Various Side Dish Composition Lunchbox

I first tasted the main side dish, Japchae. Japchae includes basic mushrooms, carrots, and meat, making it a relatively substantial composition compared to the overly simplified convenience store Japchae these days. However, it still felt a bit lacking as a convenience store lunchbox.

The amount of soy sauce bulgogi is less than expected. The soy sauce is quite salty, so I recommend eating it with other side dishes. Keep in mind that there isn’t much meat!

Overall, the other types of pancakes are quite ordinary. I didn’t have high expectations for the taste since they likely used frozen products, but they used delicious products, so they fit well in the mouth! Haha

The chicken breast tofu pancake was softer and less dry than expected! It’s slightly seasoned, but as mentioned earlier, it would be perfect if you add a bit of soy sauce bulgogi on top. Haha, I enjoyed it quite a lot.

The other vegetables and side dishes were fresher and crunchier than expected, making them enjoyable to eat. They were a really good composition to eat with the pancakes!

The side dish I mentioned earlier that I wasn’t sure about turned out to be stir-fried dried shrimp. Haha, the dried shrimp is quite small and very salty, making it good to eat with other side dishes.

Convenience Store Taste Review Summary

This menu was overall well-composed to fit the concept of a traditional table setting, making it very good for choosing and eating various things. It wasn’t just a lot of side dishes, but unlike the recently simplified and streamlined holiday full table setting menus, it adhered to the traditional table setting rules to some extent, making it a suitable menu for those who miss such lunchbox compositions. If you have the chance when you visit a convenience store, I recommend trying it!
