[K-food] Mom’s Touch Edward Lee K Thigh Burger

Hello! Today’s introduction is the new menu from Mom’s Touch, the Edward Lee K Thigh Burger. It is one of the three menus released as part of the Edward Lee Chef Collection 2! When you think of Mom’s Touch, the Thigh Burger comes to mind, so I decided to review this menu first. I remember the previous Edward Lee Thigh Burger with bacon jam was quite delicious! Naturally, I’m looking forward to this menu as well. Let’s find out what this menu is all about.

Features and Price of Edward Lee K Thigh Burger

When the previous Chef Collection menu was first released, it was thought to be a one-time collaboration event, but unexpectedly, a second menu was launched. The previous menu gained significant popularity by incorporating bacon jam into fast food, rather than applying the taste of another menu to a hamburger! However, there were opinions that it was too American in taste, leading to mixed reviews, so I’m curious about how this menu will turn out. This time, the Edward Lee K Beef Burger and Cream Dijon Big Thigh Boneless were also introduced! The Edward Lee K Beef Burger is only available at BEEF outlets.

This time, I ordered the Edward Lee K Thigh Burger! Looking at the price, it’s available for 7,500 won for a single item and 9,900 won for a set at the store, while the delivery price is 8,300 won for a single item and 11,200 won for a set. Since it’s part of the Mom’s Touch Thigh Burger lineup, the price seems quite reasonable!

Components of Edward Lee K Thigh Burger

Let’s take a quick look at the composition. The menu itself is quite unique, and at first glance, it resembles the Edward Lee Thigh Burger with added ham!

Unlike the previous menu where bacon jam was particularly noticeable, this menu features cheese prominently! The yellow appears to be cheddar cheese, and the white might be cream cheese.

The key component of this menu, the coleslaw mixed with red pepper powder, can be seen on top of the vegetables and cheese! Due to the nature of the ingredients, it seems they have been carefully stacked in the center to prevent them from spilling out.

Let’s cut it in half and take a closer look at the composition! Once divided, the menu composition becomes even clearer!

The basic composition is in the order of pickles, red pepper powder coleslaw, cheese, lettuce, bacon ham, boneless thigh patty, and barbecue sauce from top to bottom!

The barbecue sauce at the bottom contains gochujang, enhancing the flavor of Korean cuisine. It seems they added a bit of spiciness to balance out the greasy and foreign taste of the previous version.

The key seems to be the coleslaw mixed with red pepper powder! Whether the coleslaw has been appropriately infused with Korean flavors or has actually transformed into cabbage kimchi can only be determined by tasting it. If it pairs well with the menu, it might be quite good!

Taste of Edward Lee K Thigh Burger

Let’s take a bite right away! The melted cheese, coleslaw, and barbecue sauce create a rich texture that whets the appetite!

When you take a big bite with all the ingredients, you can definitely feel that the coleslaw flavor stands out in this menu. The unique tangy taste of the coleslaw, slightly spicy red pepper powder, and the addition of cheese to the barbecue sauce create a very complex flavor!

Burger Unique Taste Thoughts

Although the coleslaw flavor is strong, it surprisingly pairs well with the greasy thigh patty, and the tangy taste is somewhat neutralized when mixed with the barbecue sauce. Additionally, the combination with other ingredients like pickles and bacon ham is quite good!

The coleslaw flavor was unexpectedly very kimchi-like yet different, which was quite nice! It felt significantly different from existing franchise kimchi burgers. Even those who were skeptical about kimchi burgers might find it quite tasty!

Coleslaw Spicy Flavor Harmony

Of course, if you dislike coleslaw, there is a clear limitation that might make you hesitant. However, for those who dislike greasy burgers, this might be quite enjoyable!

If you eat it at the store, it’s quite good in terms of value for money, so if you’re looking for a unique-tasting Thigh Burger, I highly recommend trying it at least once.

Personally, I really enjoyed this menu! Due to the nature of coleslaw, it’s a slightly cold menu, so if the burger cools down, the harmony with the warm patty might be slightly disrupted. Especially since the weather is cold these days, I recommend eating it at the store! If it suits your taste, you won’t regret it!
