[K-food] Satisfaction Favorite Jeyuk & Katsu CU

Hello! Today, I am introducing CU’s new lunchbox menu, a new addition to the Satisfaction Favorite lineup, Satisfaction Favorite Jeyuk & Kats. Despite being a new menu, it is a concept where you can enjoy stir-fried pork and pork cutlet in one lunchbox, reminiscent of something seen before. It’s a menu that’s hard to fail and suitable for a meal, so I bought it right away. Let’s find out what kind of menu it is from now on.

Satisfaction Favorite Lunchbox Price Comparison Information

Satisfaction Favorite Jeyuk & Kats Price and Features

This menu allows you to enjoy stir-fried pork and pork cutlet in one lunchbox, a concept that must be included in the convenience store lunchbox lineup. It seems that CU introduced this menu while reorganizing the lineup rather than having a special reason for Satisfaction Favorite. The price is 5,500 won.

The total content is 371g, and the calorie content is 745Kcal, with sodium at 46% of the daily recommended intake. Considering the sodium content, it is not particularly high compared to a typical lunchbox. The content and calorie seem appropriate for the price range. It feels adequate to eat and fill up.

Convenience Store Meal Replacement Lunchbox Recommendation

Satisfaction Favorite Jeyuk & Kats Set Composition

Let’s take a look at the composition! This menu is a lunchbox composed of 5 side dishes! Compared to the price of 5,500 won, the absolute amount of side dishes seems a bit lacking. First, the pork cutlet sauce is provided separately!

The side dishes consist of three items: red cabbage radish pickle, corn salad, and Vienna sausage ketchup stir-fry. The red cabbage radish pickle is designed to be separable when microwaving, and the other side dishes are commonly seen in typical convenience store lunchboxes.

In fact, this menu’s main items are the stir-fried pork and pork cutlet. For a lunchbox with 5 side dishes priced at 5,500 won, it raises questions about whether the amount of side dishes is adequate.

Including frozen pork cutlet in a convenience store lunchbox is somewhat understandable, and it generally meets the expected size and quality. The pork cutlet is at a level that could be included in a 9 or 10 side dish lunchbox. The stir-fried pork also does not have as much quantity as expected.

The Taste of Satisfaction Favorite Jeyuk & Kats

Still, if the taste is truly innovative (though unlikely), it might be somewhat understandable! Let’s taste it right away.

Lunchbox Price Comparison Review

After microwaving, I poured the pork cutlet sauce into the side dish compartment in advance! The amount of sauce is sufficient even without pouring it all, as the amount of pork cutlet is small.

Convenience Store Stir-fried Pork Review Photo

I first tasted the stir-fried pork. Although a significant portion of the given side dishes was meat, the amount of meat felt too little in comparison. While I understand that convenience store lunchboxes have been affected by rising prices, for 5,500 won, there should be more. Moreover, the taste was neither particularly original nor outstanding, leaving little else to say.

The pork cutlet was similar. If fresh meat had been used, it might have been understandable, but almost half consisted of minced meat, and the style was akin to a small fried pork cutlet used as a lunchbox side dish.

Although there are other side dishes, they are also a combination of commonly seen items in regular lunchboxes, so it might be okay to eat without much thought, but for those who value cost-effectiveness, it was a slightly disappointing menu.

5 Side Dishes Lunchbox Review Photo

This menu has a lot of rice, so there are often leftovers of rice and side dishes. It’s awkward to eat rice with just the side dishes, so I stopped at this point. Most of the calories are composed of carbohydrates, making it seem like a menu with inflated calories. Considering these points, it’s hard to recommend it specifically, and it’s better to have it as a simple meal replacement.
