Hello! Today’s introduction is KFC’s new menu, the returning Truffle Chirr. It has returned after almost 3 years with the addition of truffle to the four cheese flavors! It seems that KFC has quickly released this as a renewed menu due to the recent popularity of cheese seasoning chicken. Lately, KFC chicken has been quite above average, so I’m secretly looking forward to it. Let’s find out what kind of menu it is.

Truffle Chirr Features and Price

Instead of adding menus according to the season, KFC focuses on upgrading existing menus and diversifying combo sets. It’s been a while since we’ve heard news of a new menu release! However, it was not a new menu but a re-release of the chirr menu, which was launched in 2022 and then discontinued. This time, it is said to have added truffle to the four cheese flavors, so I’m quite looking forward to it!

For the chirr Bucket, the delivery price in October is 19,400 won, and the in-store price is 17,500 won (regular price 28,000 won). You can choose from 1 piece, 3 pieces, 5 pieces, or 8 pieces of long legs, and it’s convenient to calculate at 3,800 won per piece. There is also a Zinger chirr Box, so you can choose according to your preference.

Truffle Chirr Set Composition

First, I ordered the chirr Bucket. It seems a bit burdensome to eat all the KFC chicken filled with seasoning chicken at once! LOL The chirr Bucket consists of 4 pieces of Truffle chirr and 4 regular pieces, based on boneless chicken legs.

When you open the box, a strong cheese aroma wafts out! It feels much stronger than the cheese seasoning scent of other franchises. It seems that there is a subtle mix of truffle scent as well!

Of course, it’s not real truffle, but an artificial scent! Haha Also, the amount of seasoning is quite a lot compared to other franchises. It’s not just lightly sprinkled on top but is properly coated in a seasoning bucket.

The bucket menu uses the newly changed whole chicken leg from KFC Black Label this year, so the size is quite satisfying! Considering that each piece is boneless, it seems to be quite cost-effective based on the currently discounted menu.

For reference, the basic sauce provided is smoky mustard sauce, but you can change it according to your preference. I additionally ordered Truffle chirr Fries. The fries don’t have as much seasoning compared to the main chicken menu!

The Taste of Truffle Chirr

Then let’s taste the Truffle chirr whole chicken leg first. The seasoning is very evenly coated, so it seems there won’t be any major issues no matter which part you eat! Haha

Once you take a bite, you’ll feel a very stimulating taste, with a savory cheese flavor slightly mixed with sweetness. The truffle scent is added to it, creating quite a hectic taste. The main KFC whole chicken leg meat is already a product with its own seasoning in the brine, and with the addition of cheese powder seasoning, it seems even more so!

The taste is quite stimulating. It seems it would be very difficult to eat all 8 pieces. Fortunately, by ordering the bucket, alternating the remaining 4 pieces with just fried ones seems a bit better.

For those who have a tolerance for salty and greasy flavors, it might be okay, but if not, one or two pieces seem appropriate. Depending on your preference, I recommend choosing piece by piece or opting for the Zinger Box. Personally, more than 3 pieces seem quite excessive! LOL The chirr Fries had relatively less seasoning, so it was quite manageable to eat together.

Since I couldn’t add smoky mustard to the salty, sweet, and greasy menu, I just dipped it in the fried one, and it still tasted good! Haha I’m not sure if other sauces would be worth trying with the chirr!

It’s a menu that has returned after a long time, and with the October discount price, it’s quite cost-effective and suitable for eating one or two pieces! If you have the opportunity, it might be good to try it once. It seems that such a menu is the cheapest if you eat it today!
