Home » K-food Review » K-Chicken » [Korean Food] Domino’s Pizza LA Cheese Pole Galbi Steak

Hello. Today’s new Domino’s Pizza menu I’m introducing is LA Cheese Chipotle Galbi Steak. This pizza features galbi steak and shrimp on one pie, with a unique concept that adds Cheese Chipotle sauce and guacamole cream cheese. Among the many pizza chains rolling out winter seasonal items, this one stands out with its lineup, and it even comes with a newly introduced dipping sauce. On top of that, there’s a fun gimmick where you can enjoy the sauce either by dipping or by pouring it on, which has me quietly excited. Let’s take a closer look at what it’s like.

LA Cheese Chipotle Galbi Steak price and features

As mentioned earlier, the star of this menu is the galbi steak. It also comes with a distinctive dipping sauce that combines cheese + chipotle + jalapeño, plus guacamole cream sauce, and even shrimp and potatoes, so it’s a pretty loaded lineup. True to the concept, you can enjoy the Cheese Chipotle sauce either poured on or used for dipping, depending on your preference.

First, let’s check the price. This menu comes in two sizes, Large and Medium. There’s a standard 20% discount, plus an additional discount when ordering through the app. There’s also a 50% off deal on side dishes when you order a new menu item, so be sure to grab the benefits before you try it.

  • Original crust regular price: Large 32,900 won / Medium 29,000 won
  • December new menu discounted price (20% off): Large 27,120 won / 22,400 won
  • Every Tuesday Domino Day discounted price (40% off): Large 20,340 won / Medium 16,800 won
  • 50% off side dish benefit with a new menu order

I ordered a Large Original for 33,900 won, and got the Corn Crunch Chicken side dish (regular price 7,800 won) at 50% off for 3,900 won. After applying a 30% discount and adding a 3,000 won delivery fee, the total came to 30,630 won. It didn’t feel like a bad deal. Haha.

And the Domino Cheese Chipotle sauce, which you could call the key point of this menu, basically comes with two cups when you order a Large. I wondered if it might not be enough, but decided not to add more and just review it as-is if it ran short. Getting two was such a relief. Haha.

LA Cheese Chipotle Galbi Steak 구성

Let’s check the 구성 first. The moment you open the box, the savory pizza aroma is pretty strong. With big chunks of steak, shrimp, and even potatoes, it’s a fairly hearty setup. There aren’t many vegetables, but it looks like there’s a bit of tomato in there too.

There have been pizzas before that mixed seafood and meat toppings, but most felt a bit awkwardly combined or like one side was too overpowering. This one seems to blend the shrimp and steak in a balanced way without overreaching.

In particular, it tops the pizza with potatoes as a carb element that boosts the overall flavor when paired with the dipping sauce, and adds a mild, clean-tasting guacamole cream sauce, keeping the whole thing from feeling too heavy-handed.

This menu packs in a lot of the main toppings, while keeping the other ingredients relatively minimal, and it doesn’t use a separate tomato sauce. Since guacamole is quite mild, eating it as-is will feel 100% a bit plain, so if you want a more punchy flavor, I’d say adding the dipping sauce is the way to go.

I also ordered the Corn Crunch Chicken side dish. It basically looks like regular chicken nuggets. After pouring the two chipotle dipping sauces into a bowl, the amount feels pretty generous. Let’s see if this can really cover a whole Large pizza.

LA Cheese Chipotle Galbi Steak taste

Now let’s taste it. There’s a gimmick where you can dip or pour the sauce, but for the first bite, I figured it’d be best to try it without any sauce, so I started with the front end of a slice.

After the first bite, since there wasn’t any meat at the very tip of the first slice, it was just potatoes, shrimp, and guacamole cream sauce, and as expected it tasted slightly on the plain side. The sauce flavor that comes in as the “kick” isn’t especially strong either. It’s basically the taste of cheese on pizza dough, plus very straightforward toppings.

Still, even with just the potatoes, shrimp, and basic toppings, it feels quite filling, so I immediately thought it would be satisfying even eaten as-is. People who are a bit tired of the salty, spicy new pizza releases might actually prefer it this way. When I tried a piece of the meat on its own, it was surprisingly savory, with a smoky note on top, so it’s not bad even without anything extra.

Next, I tried it the way the gimmick intends, by dipping. The dipping sauce is better than I expected. I’m usually used to garlic dipping sauce, so it’s been a while since I’ve had a spicy one. With the aroma of cheese + chipotle + jalapeño, it’s nicely spicy, and with the salty, strongly seasoned steak sauce layered in, the flavor shifts into something much more bold than you’d think.

Then I also tried the “pour it on” method, drizzling it directly over the pizza, folding it in half, and taking a bite. Honestly, for me, there wasn’t a big difference in taste between dipping and pouring. This isn’t fried sweet-and-sour pork, so whether you dip or pour, it’s not like the flavor is going to change.

This menu is one where the dipping sauce does a lot of the heavy lifting, so it may split opinions a bit. The pizza itself is mild but tasty, and with the slightly spicy (not too hot) chipotle cheese sauce adding a great savory depth, it’s hard for it to taste bad. That said, if you’re firmly in the “pizza needs tomato sauce” camp, you might not love it. If you like pizzas with chipotle sauce, though, this will be right up your alley.

Since the dipping sauce itself is solid, it also tasted great with the well-fried side dish when I dipped it in. With this new menu, you can get side dishes at half price, so it’s worth taking advantage of when you order.
