Hello! Today, I am introducing Harim’s new ramen menu, Yangpun Kimchi Stew Ramen(하림 양푼 김치찌개라면). Recently, Harim has been releasing new ramen menus at a rapid pace! Today, following the Budae Jjageul Myeon, they have introduced a ramen with a kimchi stew concept. Personally, I quite like kimchi ramen, and I was a bit disappointed that such ramen releases weren’t frequent lately, so I’m looking forward to it! Let’s take a look at what this menu is all about.

Yangpun Kimchi Stew Ramen Price and Features
This menu is a new ramen with the concept of ‘The authentic taste of rich pork kimchi stew!’. Kimchi stew ramen itself is close to the basic lineup, and with Omori leading the market, it must not have been easy to release a new menu, but I’m looking forward to it. The regular price for this menu’s multipack (4 pieces) is 4,800 won, but I bought it at a discounted price of about 4,000 won at the mart! You can think of it as about 1,000 won per piece.

The cooking method for this menu is simple: put the noodles, soup base, and garnish into 500ml of boiling water and boil for 4 minutes and 30 seconds! The previous Songtan Budae Jjageul Myeon required leaving 100ml after boiling, which was a bit cumbersome, but this menu is much more convenient as you just need to boil it.

This menu has a total content of 112g and 480Kcal of calories, with a sodium content at 82% of the daily recommended intake. It has the typical content and calorie level of regular ramen, but the sodium level is somewhat high. It seems that the sodium content increased slightly in an attempt to recreate the rich broth.

Yangpun Kimchi Stew Ramen Components
Let’s take a quick look at the components. The components consist of noodles, powder soup, and garnish soup, these three! The ramen was broken in half when I took it out of the package, but I’ll overlook that for now.

The powder soup is not much different from regular ramen soup, right? However, you can subtly smell the kimchi scent from the ramen soup, and when you taste it, it definitely has the taste of kimchi ramen.

And the kimchi garnish part contains a lot of freeze-dried kimchi to keep the concept alive. Since it’s supposed to taste like pork kimchi stew, I thought there would be pork in the garnish, but it seems they just flavored it. Haha.

Making Yangpun Kimchi Stew Ramen
Since the cooking method is not complicated, I prepared boiling water right away, then added the noodles, soup, and garnish, and boiled for 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

Once the broth starts boiling in earnest, the scent of kimchi stew spreads strongly! Kimchi stew can be enjoyed according to various preferences, but it definitely feels closer to ‘kimchi stew’ than the usual ‘kimchi ramen’.

The completed visual looks like this! Looking at the broth, doesn’t it remind you of a slightly soupy and refreshing style of kimchi stew? Haha. If the taste is good too, it would be perfect, so let’s taste it right away.

The Taste of Yangpun Kimchi Stew Ramen
Then let’s immediately take a bite and taste it. Since the noodles were boiled in the broth for 4 minutes and 30 seconds, the seasoning was perfectly absorbed! The ramen feels like eating kimchi stew with ramen noodles at a Korean restaurant. Haha.

However, the unique taste of pork or pork fat is not felt in the broth, and it relies a bit on the simple pork bone seasoning, which is a bit disappointing. But considering the nature of ramen, it’s understandable that it’s difficult to produce a deep flavor even if the aroma can be achieved.

The broth is quite similar to refreshing kimchi stew. The slightly sweet taste is also somewhat reproduced! It feels a bit clearer and more refreshing compared to Omori Kimchi Stew, giving it a slightly different feel from regular kimchi ramen!

Considering that Omori Kimchi Stew bag noodles are about 1,500 won each, honestly, if you think about the quality of about 1,000 won per bag, this is quite acceptable. Depending on your needs, you can add real kimchi and pork neck to enjoy it as a refreshing hangover cure!

Personally, I feel it’s good to eat with rice and perfect for a hangover! Try it yourself, and if you add various ingredients to suit your taste, it will become a perfect menu! The cost-effectiveness is excellent, and especially the broth matched my taste well!
