[Korean Food] Jeonju-style Bibim Rice Bowl, Sausage Vegetable Rice Bowl Amazing Price 3900 CU

Hello! Today, I am introducing CU’s new lunchbox menu, which has been released with an amazing price lineup in the value-for-money series. The two lunchboxes are Jeonju-style Bibim Rice and Sausage Vegetable Rice. The amazing price lunchboxes are rumored to be as cost-effective as Emart24’s “End of Imagination” series, and they are selling quite well! This menu also seems to have a relatively large portion for a single item at the affordable price of 3,900 won. Let’s check out what these menus are!

CU Value-for-Money Lunchbox Features

Amazing Price 3900 Lunchbox 2 Types Price and Features

Nowadays, we have to say that a convenience store lunchbox priced at 3,900 won is ‘cheap’, but since we can’t skip meals just because prices have risen, we feel glad whenever such ‘relatively cheap’ lunchboxes are released. Since the term ‘lunchflation’ emerged, the lineup has been expanded, and various value-for-money lunchbox series have been released, but now it seems to converge almost to the 3900 series!

This time, the two types, Jeonju-style Bibim Rice and Sausage Vegetable Rice, were released together at the amazing price of 3,900 won. While GS25 or Emart24 offer set or full-course menus in the 3900 won lineup, CU stands out with its single-item releases. CU makes these menus quite well, so I look forward to them every time they come out.

The price of Jeonju-style Bibim Rice is 3,900 won. The total content is 260g, and the calorie count is 472Kcal, with sodium accounting for 52% of the daily recommended intake. This menu is said to include a fried egg! The price is reasonable, but it feels like a somewhat light menu.

The Sausage Vegetable Rice is offered at 3,900 won, with a total content of 344g and a calorie count of 622Kcal. The sodium content is about 58% of the daily recommended intake, which is quite high compared to Jeonju-style Bibim Rice in terms of content and calories. Although the portion size is uncertain, this amount of calories should be sufficient for a meal. It’s similar to a full-course menu in the high 4,000 won range!

Sausage Vegetable Rice Taste Review

As always with this series, a spork is included! The composition is simple as it’s a single item, making it easy to hold and eat like cup rice. It might be a bit hot when microwaved though…

Amazing Jeonju-style Bibim Rice Components

First, let’s take a look at the menu composition of Jeonju-style Bibim Rice. As a single-item menu, the composition is very simple. A fried egg cooked over easy is placed on top of rice that is already somewhat seasoned.

Since it’s Jeonju Bibimbap, additional gochujang seasoning was added on top of the already seasoned rice. It wasn’t regular gochujang but something called yakgochujang, which seemed to be stir-fried with meat. It’s similar to what’s often found inside triangular kimbap…

And to capture the essence of bibimbap, a considerable amount of seaweed flakes is included. This menu is definitely a good choice to mix and eat!

Next, let’s check out the amazing Sausage Vegetable Rice composition. Since this menu is not bibimbap but rice with toppings, the ingredients are generously placed on top! The quantity seems to be quite a lot, more than expected.

The sausage included in this menu uses domestic sausage, and although the exact pork content of the sausage is unknown, the quality felt quite good when I tried one. CU’s secret sauce is said to be added to this!

Amazing Jeonju-style Bibim Rice Taste

First, I immediately tasted the Bibim Rice. I added the egg, seaweed flakes, and sauce and took a bite! It’s fine to eat as is, but like me, you might want to chop the egg finely and mix it in.

In my personal opinion, although it was called Jeonju-style Bibim Rice overall, it felt more like the Jeonju-style Bibim Triangular Kimbap commonly found in convenience stores rather than the Jeonju-style Bibimbap we know. The sauce, rice composition, and even the seaweed flakes made it taste just like Bibim Triangular Kimbap, minus the egg.

Since this is not a dedicated bibimbap menu, it’s hard to include vegetables, and the only substantial ingredient is the egg, which might be a bit disappointing. However, if you prefer this style of triangular kimbap, I think you’ll find this menu quite satisfying.

For the price of two big-sized triangular kimbaps, you can definitely get more quantity! In my opinion, the taste is about the level of triangular kimbap, so if you enjoy it with that concept, I think you can enjoy it deliciously. If you have a bowl of Nongshim Yukgaejang Cup Noodles with it, you’ll be very full!

Amazing Vegetable Sausage Rice Taste

Next, let’s immediately taste the Sausage Vegetable Rice! For this menu, it would be best to scoop the rice and toppings and eat it like a real rice bowl!

The secret sauce includes chili sauce, ketchup, and an unknown tangy sauce. Despite its color, the spiciness was subtle, making it less stimulating than expected. The sausage itself tasted great, making it really good to eat with the rice.

And such menus often increase the quantity by adding a lot of vegetables to the sauce, but seeing that they used frozen vegetables instead, it seems they were confident in the sausage and sauce. Nevertheless, the amount of rice is quite a lot.

Personally, I enjoyed both menus and found them quite filling! Personally, I think the Sausage Vegetable Rice was tastier. Of course, compared to similar-priced value-for-money full-course lunchboxes around 3900 won, the composition might be slightly lacking, but the quantity was maximized within the price. It’s a convenient composition to eat, so consider this when you try it!
