Hello. Today’s new Seven Eleven lunchbox menu I’m introducing is the Limit-Exceeding Crispy Bulgogi & Hamburg Steak Lunchbox. Seven Eleven has been rolling out a variety of items quickly under its Limit-Exceeding series. This time, they released a lunchbox that lets you enjoy a combo you don’t often see at Seven Eleven: hamburg steak and bulgogi together. Let’s take a closer look at what it’s like.

Limit-Exceeding Crispy Bulgogi & Hamburg Steak: Price and Highlights

By mid-2025, Seven Eleven has been continuously introducing new value-for-money items through its Limit-Exceeding series, including the existing Matjangwoo line. Of course, some existing items get renewed like other franchises do, but many are released as fresh launches with new combinations. This one seems to fall into that category. The price is 5,200 won.

The total weight is 452g, and it comes in at 770 kcal. Sodium is 54% of the recommended daily intake. Considering that a single lunchbox meal often costs over 5,000 won these days, the portion size and calories seem reasonable for the price. It looks suitable as a full meal replacement.

Let’s quickly check what’s inside. This menu is made up of five sides. If you count the hamburg steak section as two items—hamburg steak and roasted potatoes—it’s essentially a six-item lineup.

The hamburg steak included in this menu is said to contain pork, onion, flour, and more. They don’t provide a separate hamburg steak sauce; instead, it comes pre-drizzled with a Worcestershire-style sauce. The roasted potatoes may not have anything to dip them in.

As for the bulgogi, it uses thinly sliced meat meant for bulgogi. It looked like a pretty generous portion, but on closer look, there was a thick bed of cabbage underneath. This part may be a love-it-or-hate-it point.

The remaining side dishes are three items: stir-fried kimchi, grilled sausage, and spicy stir-fried fish cake. There’s no special sauce for the sausage, and the other sides are common convenience-store lunchbox staples, so there isn’t much to call out.

Looking at the overall portion and composition, the hamburg steak feels like the main, the beef bulgogi like a secondary item, and the rest as simple accompaniments. Still, a lunchbox pairing beef bulgogi with hamburg steak is unusual, which makes it quietly exciting. Let’s taste it right away.

Tasting Limit-Exceeding Crispy Bulgogi & Hamburg Steak

I started with a bite of the beef bulgogi. It had a slightly fatty note, and the light soy-based sauce came together with it for a nicely savory, satisfying flavor that was easy to enjoy. Of course, after a few bites, the cabbage bed underneath started to become very noticeable.

To be fair, I get that cabbage can work well as a wrap with bulgogi. Personally, though, when it’s used as a base under a side dish like this, it tends to soak up too much oil, so I don’t end up eating much of it. It might be better if they lightly steamed it once and placed it on top instead.

Next, I tried the hamburg steak. Surprisingly, it was springy and substantial. The sauce was decent, and the patty had a good amount of juiciness without being overly greasy, so for a convenience-store lunchbox, it was quite enjoyable.

That said, compared with the older style where they included a separate hamburg steak sauce packet to pour on, some people may find the sauce a bit lacking. Still, considering the price, it can feel like a solid option compared with other items that only offered hamburg steak on its own.

The remaining side dishes are really just simple add-ons, so I tried them in small bites. They’re nice to have when you want a change of pace while eating the bulgogi and hamburg steak.

All in all, it’s a meat-forward menu, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. After finishing, it also felt filling thanks to the hamburg steak. If you want something that’s reasonably priced, satisfying, and tasty, this is worth recommending. (And get your fiber from the cabbage.)
