Hello! Today, I am introducing Burger King’s new menu item, the Originals Italian Salsa Verde. It’s been a while since a thick Originals series was released! This lineup, boasting a thick 150g patty, is presented with a unique composition. It includes a salsa verde sauce made by mixing spicy herbs like husk tomatoes and jalapeños. It’s quite an unfamiliar ingredient in Korea, and using it in a burger is quite unique! Let’s find out what this menu is all about.

Italian Salsa Verde Price and Features

Knowing Burger King’s characteristics, we can’t help but rely on the Truffle Mushroom Whopper during the fall season, but it seems they have been quite negligent in developing new menus since the Originals New York Steak. However, with the year-end approaching, they set aside the Christmas menu and released this unique menu for you to try. Salsa verde sauce?! While there have been Whoppers with salsa sauce in the US Burger King and the Mexican Salsa Verde Whopper, this is undoubtedly a unique menu.

Looking at the price of this menu, the store price for a single item is 10,500 won, and the delivery price is 11,500 won. The regular set is 12,500 won in-store and 13,500 won for delivery. If you upgrade to a large size, it costs about 700 won more. Italian Salsa Verde Components

Let’s first look at the composition. When you open the box, you see a half-wrapped burger with long bacon strips on top of a brioche bun. I think it would be nice if they folded the bacon a bit, but the strips are quite long again this time.

From the side, you can see the salsa verde sauce sprinkled with tomatoes and Grana Padano cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon strips! Really, I wish they would cut the bacon strips and distribute them evenly in the burger…

When you take a look around, the most noticeable feature is the thick Originals patty. The Originals menu is characterized by a thick 150g beef patty, and Burger King pursues a unique composition by aiming for a differentiated handmade burger style rather than simply ordering a Whopper.

Let’s take a closer look at the composition by splitting it in half. Since it’s a brioche bun, the bottom patty is quite thin and a bit flimsy.

From the top, it consists of lettuce, mayo sauce, tomatoes, Grana Padano cheese, salsa verde, bacon, and an Originals 150g beef patty. In fact, this menu is a simple composition centered around the patty and sauce, so it doesn’t include any special patties or ingredients.

The focus is indeed on the salsa verde sauce! This sauce is said to be made with basil, jalapeños, parmesan, and olive oil. With salsa verde included, I’m not sure if we should call it Italian style, but thanks to the cheese, it seems best to just accept the ‘Italian’ expression.

Flavor of Italian Salsa Verde

Let’s taste it right away! The Originals series is large in size but not very tall, making it quite easy to eat, and this one seems easy to eat too! This is also an important factor when eating!

Once you take a bite, you’ll definitely feel the strong flavor of the salsa verde sauce. The red sauce we commonly call ‘salsa’ and salsa verde taste quite similar! This menu is relatively smooth because it contains parmesan cheese.

New Menu Recommendation Burger King Italian

With a hint of spiciness, rich cheese flavor, and the juicy thick Originals beef patty, this menu is very well balanced. It’s not too strong and has a unique yet familiar taste, so I highly recommend trying it at least once!

And as the name suggests, you’ll understand why it’s called Italian style once you try it. With just tomatoes, lettuce, meat, and sauce, you might think it’s simply Mexican style, but surprisingly, it doesn’t feel that way. Should I say it’s a slightly spicy European burger style? Of course, that feeling isn’t conveyed 100%, but it somewhat resolves the curiosity about why it was named that way.

Although it’s not very tall, the size of the menu itself makes it quite substantial, giving a feeling of being a complete meal. This lineup seems to have been released with a slightly handmade burger style in mind, which is a successful point compared to the usual franchise hamburger taste!

Of course, some might think it’s just the usual Originals menu with a different sauce, but surprisingly, the taste is quite good. It’s unique yet not overly flashy, so it probably won’t be too divisive! The portion is sufficient, and using a discount coupon makes it quite cost-effective. Personally, if you like Burger King, I highly recommend trying it!
