Today’s new Burger King menu is the Quattro Pepper Cube Steak Whopper, released as a limited-time item for winter 2026. It feels like a mash-up of the classic Quattro Cheese Whopper and the Cube Steak Whopper that came out in 2023. With Burger King’s signature Whopper patty, a satisfyingly beefy cube steak, and a distinctive pepper cream sauce, it turned out to be better than expected. Maybe because it’s the first new release of the year, it seems like they put some real effort into it. Let’s take a closer look at what it’s like.

This is a pepper-forward burger launched with the concept of “a Whopper stacked with meat on meat, plus the bold aroma of four peppers.” It went on limited sale nationwide at Burger King from January 8 through early April. Actor Lee Jung-jae is also back as the campaign model, which is drawing even more attention. Along with the Quattro Pepper Cube Steak Whopper, the new lineup also includes the Tough Pepper Cube Steak and, as a side, Tough Pepper Cheese Fries. If I get the chance, I’ll have to try those two later as well.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netSince this is a new premium Whopper, the price is on the higher side. Here are the prices.
- In-store: Single 9,500 KRW / Combo 11,700 KRW
- Delivery: Single 10,600 KRW / Combo 13,300 KRW
Considering current prices overall, it’s in a similar range to the Quattro Cheese Cube Steak Whopper that was released before, and it still feels a bit pricey even among premium Whoppers. That said, if you apply coupons (including event coupons) in the Burger King app depending on your membership tier, you can usually knock off about 1,000–2,000 KRW, so keep that in mind. Also note that upgrading to a large size costs about 700 KRW extra. For reference, the Tough Pepper Cube Steak is 10,500 KRW for the single / 12,700 KRW for the combo in-store, and the Tough Pepper Cheese Fries are 3,200 KRW.

Let’s quickly check what’s inside. It’s essentially a pepper version of the Quattro Cheese Whopper line, combined with the Cube Steak Whopper for a unique concept. From the promotional images, I expected it to look really thick, but in person it doesn’t seem quite that hefty.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netStill, the basics look solid: a sesame bun, a flame-grilled Whopper beef patty, and on top you can faintly see the cube steak seasoned with four kinds of pepper. It’s not super clear in the photo, but with lettuce, onion, and two slices of cheddar, it does look filling enough.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netNow let’s cut it in half and take a closer look. Starting from the top, there’s lettuce and onion, plus a black pepper cheese cream sauce. Under that sits the cube steak, followed by sliced cheese, then the Whopper patty. They also added a salt-and-pepper seasoning to the Whopper patty to amplify the pepper flavor overall.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThe real highlight here seems less about the cube steak itself and more about the flavor blend using four peppers—black, white, smoked, and pink. It’s designed so you can get both the meaty aroma of the Whopper and cube steak and the pepper fragrance at the same time. With the black pepper cheese sauce added, it also looks like it’ll be creamy yet bold.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netLately, a lot of chains have been rolling out different items using black pepper cheese cream sauce. Off the top of my head, Lotteria, Popeyes, and Mom’s Touch have done it, and even Emart24 added this sauce to a double-beef convenience-store burger. That combo works surprisingly well with a strong meaty flavor, so I’m expecting good things from this one too.

Let’s get straight to the taste. The “four peppers” concept is pretty intriguing. Overall, it definitely feels like a burger where pepper is the star. On the first bite, the pepper aroma hits right away along with the smoothness of the cheese, and it’s more zesty than I expected while still packed with a rich, meaty flavor.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netWith the Whopper’s signature flame-grilled note plus four kinds of pepper, it feels like your nose and tongue are filled with pepper fragrance. The black pepper cheese sauce also does a good job of keeping it creamy while bringing out that peppery kick. In particular, the pepper isn’t a fine powder—it comes through as distinct coarse bits, like the cracked pepper you’d get at a steakhouse.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netYou don’t feel it all at once, but as you chew, each time it hits your tongue it pops with a sharp, stimulating bite. It’s not extremely spicy, though. On the flip side, the cube steak was a bit underwhelming. The portion and thickness weren’t as substantial as I’d hoped. You can taste it when you get a bite of the cube steak, but since it’s still a Whopper at heart, the Whopper patty flavor comes through more strongly overall.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netStill, if you think of it as a Whopper you’re eating for the pepper-forward flavor, it delivers enough to feel worth it. I personally like the pepper-and-meat combo, but some people may find the salty, intense profile a bit heavy. The pepper flavor is very strong, so it’ll definitely be polarizing. If you don’t handle pepper well, this won’t be an easy pick, but if you love pepper, it should be right up your alley.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netPersonally, if you’re a pepper fan, this is a menu item you can be satisfied with. The pepper level is clearly a step up from the existing Quattro series, so you can really enjoy the aroma and zing. The combination of the Whopper’s flame-grilled flavor, four peppers, and the black pepper cheese sauce is a direct hit for anyone who loves meat and pepper.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThat said, the cube steak presence is weaker than expected, and the overall profile is fairly salty and intense, so those who prefer a cleaner-tasting Whopper may find it a bit heavy. Since the pepper comes through very strongly, it’s likely to be a clear love-it-or-hate-it item. If you use app coupons, you can also bring the price down by about 1,000–2,000 KRW, so I’d recommend it to anyone who still wants to try it while keeping an eye on value. It’s only available until early April, so if you’re interested, don’t miss it.
