Hello. Today’s new Nongshim ramen is Rabokguri, a new addition to the Neoguri Stir-Fry Cup Noodles lineup. It’s said to taste like spicy seafood rabokki. The concept feels pretty unique, just like the name. I’ve never tried spicy seafood rabokki before, so I’m really curious what it tastes like. Is it something like a mix of seafood jjamppong and tteokbokki? I bought it right away out of curiosity, so let’s take a closer look at what this menu is like.

Rabokguri Cup Noodles Price and Key Features
I kept wondering what “spicy seafood rabokki” even means. I figured it might be a jjamppong + tteokbokki combo. However, since it includes seaweed, kelp, and fish cake, it feels more like it adds that clean, refreshing seaweed-based note. Come to think of it, Neoguri itself already has a kelp-and-seafood udon concept. Because of that, the pairing actually makes a lot of sense. The price is 1,900 KRW at convenience stores, and around 1,500 KRW at marts.

Like the rest of the Neoguri Stir-Fry Cup Noodles lineup, microwave cooking is recommended. You pour in boiling water and microwave it for 3 minutes at 1000W without draining the water. That part is the same. However, for this one, you don’t add the sauce before cooking. Instead, you microwave the noodles first, then add the sauces at the end and mix. Of course, you can also prepare it using only boiling water.

This one has a total net weight of 105 g and 350 kcal. Sodium is about 63% of the daily recommended intake. For the portion size, the calories are fairly low. Since it’s a rabokki-style stir-fry noodle, I expected it to be very salty. Still, it’s a bit lower than I thought.

Checking the Contents
Let’s quickly check what’s inside and start cooking. This cup includes the noodles, the dried toppings under the noodles, and two seasonings: a liquid sauce and a powder seasoning. The toppings include some fun-shaped dried fish cake. Looking at the lid, it says it’s kelp-shaped fish cake. Still, at a glance, it looks more like kelp pieces and dried seaweed. I’ll confirm that later.

Interestingly, you don’t add both seasonings before microwaving. You microwave only the noodles first, then add them together and mix. So I poured hot water up to the line, microwaved it, added the seasonings, and mixed right away. For microwave cooking, you don’t need to drain the water separately.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netRight after cooking, there’s a bit of water left, so you might wonder if it’s okay. However, based on my experience with Neoguri stir-fry noodles, the noodles absorb the liquid as you mix. It also thickens slightly as it blends with the seasonings. So it hasn’t been a problem.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThis is roughly what it looks like when finished. It looks pretty good, right? Visually, it doesn’t seem that different from other stir-fry noodles I’ve had. However, the aroma has a slightly clean, seafood note. That makes it feel subtly new.

Now, let’s taste it. I already like Neoguri. If earlier Neoguri stir-fry releases felt like they were heavily mixed with other ramen styles, this one feels the closest to classic Neoguri.

With the first bite, you can tell. It feels like what you’d get if you took that clean kelp taste and the slight udon-like note of Neoguri and made it into a proper stir-fry noodle. Unlike seafood flavors that remind you of jjamppong, this leans more toward tteokbokki. It also feels like what you’d get if you used Neoguri’s spicy seasoning instead of a typical ramen soup base in tteokbokki.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netSince it’s a stir-fry ramen, the core is a sweet, savory heat with a spicy kick. If they had pushed the original Neoguri flavor too hard, the stir-fry identity could have felt shaky. Still, this one strikes the balance well.

And, as you’d expect, it is mildly spicy. It feels around the level of Paldo Bibim Men. That said, some people will still find that spicy. If you’re sensitive to heat, keep that in mind. Lastly, the udon-style toppings don’t play a big role. They feel more like a signature touch for the Neoguri stir-fry lineup.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netOverall, it’s a very well-finished menu. It feels familiar, yet it also has a slightly new twist. If you enjoyed the Neoguri stir-fry lineup, you’ll likely like it. If you’re a fan of the original spicy Neoguri, it should also hit the spot.
Rabokguri Cup Noodles Overall Review
Personally, this was the most satisfying option in the Neoguri stir-fry lineup. The biggest strength is how well it carries over the original Neoguri’s clean kelp taste and seafood-udon vibe into a stir-fry format. The balance between sweet and spicy is also solid. Moreover, it finds a good middle ground between “stir-fry noodles” and “Neoguri.” I recommend it to both Neoguri fans and stir-fry noodle lovers.
