Hello! Today, I will introduce GS25’s new lunchbox menu, Heja’s Homemade Meal Half & Half Pork Bulgogi. The existing ‘Heja’s Homemade Meal Half & Half Bulgogi’ menu has been renewed to Half & Half Pork Bulgogi! It seems to have been renewed along with the entire Heja’s Homemade Meal series, which was quite popular as it was released as part of the Heja series! Unlike the previous renewal, the composition seems to have changed slightly! So, let’s find out what kind of menu it is!?

Price and Features of Heja’s Half & Half Pork Bulgogi Lunchbox

The Half & Half Pork Bulgogi has been released as a renewal version of the existing Heja’s Half & Half Bulgogi menu. In fact, the previous Half & Half Bulgogi menu also used domestic pork, so there isn’t much difference, but the name is just a matter of labeling, haha. The price of this menu is 5,200 won, which is an increase of 200 won from the previous menu.

While organizing the stickers, it got slightly torn, haha;; Anyway, the content weight of this menu is 407g, with 542Kcal, and sodium is at 51% of the daily recommended intake. Compared to the pre-renewal menu of 430g and 720Kcal, it feels a lot lighter! You could say the actual perceived price has increased.

Composition of Heja’s Half & Half Pork Bulgogi Lunchbox

Shall we check the composition!? It’s inevitable to compare it with the previous menu! The previous menu had a total of 7 side dishes including fried egg, whereas this menu has been reduced to 6 side dishes! The amount of meat also feels slightly reduced overall!

In the previous menu, the soy sauce bulgogi and gochujang bulgogi had a significant portion, and the rest of the side dishes felt like they were just for show, whereas in this menu, the portion of each bulgogi has decreased, and the side dish composition has increased!

As the main menu’s portion decreases, the overall composition feels less impressive than before. It seems more like a new menu that has cut ties with the previous menu rather than a renewal. The gochujang bulgogi and soy sauce bulgogi have become somewhat mediocre half & half bulgogi compositions!

The side menu has replaced the pink sausage with egg coating instead of stir-fried fish cake! At least the fried egg hasn’t been removed, which might be maintaining the identity of the Heja lunchbox menu. It’s quite a disappointing part! However, considering that lunchbox prices have generally risen a lot these days, it might be inevitable.

Taste of Heja’s Half & Half Pork Bulgogi Lunchbox

Let’s taste it right away to see how it is. If it tastes good at this price, it might not feel lacking compared to other convenience store brands recently! Haha

The taste of the gochujang bulgogi itself doesn’t seem to have changed much compared to the previous menu. It’s exactly the taste of convenience store bulgogi we think of, but it’s slightly spicier and a bit less greasy!? The previous menu had a lot of oil and sauce, whereas this time it’s slightly lighter in that aspect.

On the other hand, the soy sauce bulgogi seems to be exactly the same! Haha, it has quite a lot of oil and sauce. It seems they used a slightly fatty part for the soy sauce bulgogi. The taste is exactly the sweet soy sauce flavor!

As always with Heja lunchboxes, if you find it a bit salty, it’s good to have it with a fried egg, and it would feel a bit lacking without a fried egg in a Heja lunchbox, right?! It goes well with bulgogi.

The rest of the side dishes are mainly for show, but it’s definitely better to have them than not in a full meal menu. If the fish cake stir-fry disappeared because of the egg-coated sausage, this part is somewhat understandable.

Overall, compared to the previous Heja lunchbox menu, it’s a bit disappointing, but when looking at this menu alone, it doesn’t feel lacking compared to other convenience store brands’ half & half bulgogi. When I first reviewed Heja lunchboxes, a 4,000 won lunchbox was quite unfamiliar, but now the standard is 5,000 won;; Considering the current price standards, it was a decent menu to eat. If you want a reasonable meal, it was a recommendable menu!
