The new menu item from Burger King that I will introduce today is the monster version of the Jalapeño Popper that was released a while ago! It is the Jalapeño Popper Monster. Burger King’s Whopper series new menu items often get a monster burger variation if the initial response is good! It seems they decided the Jalapeño Popper was well-received, so they released a monster version. You can enjoy the combination of a hefty patty, subtly spicy chipotle sauce, and Jalapeño Popper. Recently, Burger King’s new menu items have had a lot of sauce and patty variations, but it’s a long-standing tradition for Whopper series items to be upgraded to monster versions. So I thought it might come out this time too, and indeed it was released right away! As a monster menu item, the price is quite high even for a single item! The store price for a single item is 10,500 won / delivery price is 11,500 won! The set menu is 12,500 won for a regular single item / 14,000 won for delivery.

This menu item is naturally part of the monster series, so it has quite a bit of weight and is quite thick. However, due to the nature of monster burgers, it might look a bit precarious! Excluding that, I have a subtle expectation that it might be quite good for the price and filling!

Shall we check the composition right away!? Carefully unwrapping the packaging, it seems the burger bun supply issue hasn’t been resolved yet, as they used a brioche bun instead of the usual sesame bun. Should I consider this a gain!?

Although the lettuce and onions are not easily visible from above, the three main patties are clearly noticeable. There is a King Chicken patty, four pieces of Jalapeño Popper, and a Whopper patty!

Looking at the Jalapeño Popper, you can see that a lot of spicy chipotle sauce is included. Usually, there is a unique spicy sauce in the Monster X burger, and it seems like it might taste similar to that!

Let’s cut it in half and take a closer look at the composition. I thought it would be quite risky to cut it due to the nature of the menu, but it wasn’t that difficult to cut, perhaps because the sauce itself is thick! Haha

From the top, the composition is surprisingly simple with relish made from pickles, lettuce, onions, King Chicken patty, four Jalapeño Poppers, chipotle sauce, and a Whopper patty. There are no tomatoes or mayo sauce!

The popper bites with minced jalapeño inside are still intact. Even on their own, they were quite spicy, but I’m curious about how they will taste with the chipotle sauce this time!

As you can see from the composition, it’s quite heavy and can be greasy, so there seems to be an effort to counteract the greasiness that can’t be solved by jalapeños alone with relish and chipotle sauce. So, while spiciness is needed, I’m also a bit worried about how spicy it will be!

Let’s taste it right away. It’s quite large, and the Jalapeño Popper in the middle is a bit awkward, so I need to hold it tightly while eating! Haha

As expected, the spiciness is quite strong due to the chipotle sauce. It’s not extremely spicy, but the sauce’s slightly thick nature makes it feel concentrated! It’s a bit spicier than Shin Ramyun, I would say!?

Although there are no tomatoes, the unique pickle taste of the relish helps to counteract the greasiness quite well. I didn’t really feel it was greasy while eating!

However, a slightly disappointing point was that the unique taste of the Jalapeño Popper was quite overshadowed by the chipotle sauce and relish sauce added to counteract the greasiness. The heftiness of the chicken patty was also quite noticeable!

The cheese flavor inside the popper bite was quite noticeable, but the taste of the jalapeño was slightly overshadowed, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it’s not a bad menu item, but if you purchase it expecting the unique taste of the original menu, you might feel a bit disappointed.

Still, considering you’re eating it in-store, the price doesn’t feel too high for a monster menu item, and even a single item is quite filling as a meal, so it seems like a good choice without much price burden!

While it’s a bit disappointing to fully enjoy the unique taste of the Jalapeño Popper, if you look at it as a standalone menu item, I think it’s a menu you can enjoy quite well! For those thinking of trying it out since it’s available, it’s a menu you can enjoy without much burden!
