[Korean Food] Buffet-Style 11-Side Dish Lunchbox at 7-Eleven

Hello! Today, I’m introducing a new convenience store lunchbox menu from 7-Eleven called Buffet Hansang 11 Side Dishes Lunchbox(뷔페한상 11찬 도시락). Previously, 7-Eleven had introduced an all-day buffet with their Matjangwoo lunchbox series. I thought this menu might have a similar composition, but surprisingly, it was completely different, so I bought it right away! It’s been a while since I’ve seen such a variety of side dishes, so I’m excited! Let’s find out what this menu is all about.

Buffet Hansang 11 Side Dishes Lunchbox Price and Features

Despite being a frequently seen composition recently, 7-Eleven has expanded its lineup with cost-effective menus, introducing the 11 side dishes and multi-side dishes lunchboxes. The name is Buffet Hansang, maintaining only the features of the previous all-day buffet menu while completely renewing the composition. The price of this menu is 6,200 won, which is slightly higher than a regular lunchbox.

The total weight of this menu is 452g, and the calorie content is 955Kcal. Sodium accounts for 77% of the daily recommended intake. It’s a hefty multi-side dish lunchbox, so the calorie content is significantly higher compared to a regular lunchbox, which is usually around 600Kcal. However, it seems sufficient for a meal.

Buffet Hansang 11 Side Dishes Lunchbox Composition

As the name suggests, the Buffet Hansang 11 Side Dishes Lunchbox consists of a total of 11 different dishes! Unlike 7-Eleven’s recent focus on frozen menus, this time it’s composed of prepared side dishes, which is quite notable!

The main dishes include chicken fried in a style similar to mini sweet and sour pork and soy sauce bulgogi! These two dishes seem quite suitable to eat with rice in terms of quantity and composition. Haha.

Convenience of One Meal

Next, there are other side dishes like Vienna sausage stir-fry (no vegetables, haha), two pieces of pressed ham, a bit of fish cake stir-fry, and fried dumplings and mini pork cutlets, making up 5 side dishes. It seems that compared to the previous multi-side dish lunchboxes, which mostly included frozen menu items, there are slightly more prepared dishes this time!

The remaining side dishes are kimchi, rolled omelet, seasoned dried squid, and perilla leaf salad, totaling 4 items. It’s best to separate these side dishes when microwaving. The rolled omelet can be microwaved separately as well. All the side dishes are designed to be eaten in small bites when you get a bit tired of eating the others.

Tasting the Buffet Hansang 11 Side Dishes Lunchbox

The composition consists of the most easily imaginable dishes when we think of an 11 side dishes lunchbox. Personally, I have a subtle expectation that this kind of menu might be better than experimental ones. Also, the cost-effectiveness seems quite good! So, I first tried the chicken that resembles mini sweet and sour pork!

The taste was not very unique, as it was similar to chicken coated with batter mix and fried. Haha. Initially, I thought it would be similar to sweet and sour pork, but the sauce had a stronger ketchup-based flavor! Surprisingly, the batter was not too thick, making it suitable for eating.

Features of 11 Side Dishes Composition

The soy sauce bulgogi surprisingly had almost only onions as vegetables, and the quantity was such that it would be gone after picking it up with chopsticks three or four times, but it felt quite ordinary among the 11 side dishes. The taste was savory, making it suitable to eat with rice.

And the pressed ham, probably using Lotte Ham since it’s sold at 7-Eleven, was not Uiseong Garlic Ham, but it had a moderate amount of fat that melted subtly during microwave cooking, making it savory and suitable to eat with rice.

Side Dishes Requiring Cooking Process

The other side dishes were provided as much as possible to match the original purpose of this multi-side dish lunchbox, which is to make you feel full. Haha. Of course, most are processed foods with a few vegetable side dishes at a garnish level, so preferences may vary!

As I mentioned when reviewing another lunchbox before, I once said that convenience store lunchboxes are quite satisfying if they just implement the expected taste well, and this menu matched that well. After finishing it, I felt quite full, and the composition was such that I could eat almost everything without any particularly standout side dishes! If you’re looking for a meal, this was a menu you could enjoy satisfactorily.
