LotteRia’s first new menu item of 2026 that I’m introducing today is the Whole Drumstick Crispy Chicken Burger. It was launched in collaboration with YouTuber Chimchakman under the slogan, “An invincible chicken burger you can’t nitpick.” This release comes in two flavors in particular: Greek Ranch and Fire Hot. This time, I tried the milder Greek Ranch first. The crispy chicken patty was especially impressive. How are the taste and the price? Let’s take a closer look at what it’s like.

Whole Drumstick Crispy Chicken Burger price and features

After the T-Rex Burger was discontinued, there hadn’t been much news from LotteRia about a similar menu for a while. This time, they released this item with the grand slogan of “re-establishing the fundamentals of the chicken burger,” as if they’re seriously revamping their chicken burger lineup. It comes in two flavors—Fire Hot and Greek Ranch—and they say they focused especially on a thick patty made with whole drumstick meat and a different frying method to maximize that signature crispy crunch.

First, let’s check the price. In-store pricing is 6,900 KRW for the burger only / 8,900 KRW for a combo. Delivery pricing is 7,700 KRW for the burger only / 10,200 KRW for a combo. The price is the same for both Greek Ranch and Fire Hot. Compared with the T-Rex, which was discontinued around August–September 2025, it does feel a bit more expensive, but we’ll need to look at the overall portion and taste to judge the value for money. It’s also notable that the packaging was newly made specifically for the Chimchakman collaboration.

Whole Drumstick Crispy Chicken Burger components

Now, let’s take a look at what’s inside. First off, the bun looks almost the same as the one used for the T-Rex Burger. The bun size is the same, and the details look similar too. However, the overall build seems a bit more pared down.

The highlight of this menu seems to be less about the burger build and more about the crispy chicken patty made from whole drumstick meat. They say it uses drumstick meat as-is to keep it juicy and moist. Other than that, the only veggie I see is a single piece of lettuce, and the rest of the components are much simpler compared to the T-Rex Burger.

As for the patty, they say it’s fried with a breading that adds buttermilk and rice flour to maximize crispiness, and that they applied a continuous process called “multi-drum breading.” The patty passes through multiple drums to achieve optimal coating and frying, resulting in a thicker, more even crunch than LotteRia’s previous chicken burgers. Visually, it looks even crispier than the patty on McDonald’s Shanghai Burger.

Now, let’s cut it in half and check the layers in detail. From the top: lettuce, Greek Ranch sauce, chicken patty, and Greek Ranch sauce. That’s all. Compared to the T-Rex Burger, which at least had soy onion sauce plus onions and pickles, it feels pretty minimal.

Compared to the T-Rex Burger, which was quite large, the patty is smaller, but it does seem like they put real effort into the chicken. Seeing a decent amount of juices run out makes me hopeful. That said, looking at the build alone, it’s true that the value for money is a concern.

Whole Drumstick Crispy Chicken Burger taste

Let’s taste it right away. It feels like LotteRia has been paying more attention to chicken burgers since the T-Rex, so I’m quietly looking forward to this. With this kind of build and vibe, the chicken patty really has to deliver.

Overall, compared to the chicken patties I used to have in the past, the crispiness of the coating is clearly better. The patty isn’t overwhelmingly thicker than Mom’s Touch’s Thigh Burger, but it still has decent juiciness. The coating also feels like it stays crunchy longer thanks to the buttermilk plus rice flour. Since they likely fry a frozen patty rather than cooking it from scratch in-store, it’s nice that it doesn’t strongly feel that way.

The Greek Ranch sauce is a yogurt-based ranch style, so you get a tangy yet creamy acidity. It feels more like a lighter salad dressing than something heavy and mayo-soaked. The whole-drumstick patty is on the oily side, but the Greek yogurt’s tang balances that well, so you can enjoy it cleanly and mildly overall. The sauce is better than expected.

The patty is juicy and the sauce tastes good, but the biggest issue is still value for money. It’s smaller than the T-Rex and the build is simpler, yet it costs more. With strong alternatives like KFC and Mom’s Touch already dominating the chicken burger space, it’s hard to find a compelling reason to pay this price.

Still, it’s the type where you can clearly taste the chicken itself, so it should suit people who want to enjoy the patty’s flavor more than the sauce. The coating is thick, but it’s distinctive on its own, and the crunch is solid. Plus, when you eat it with the sauce, it doesn’t feel overly greasy, so I didn’t really think, “This wasn’t worth the money,” while eating it. In that sense, it may be a half-successful menu item.

Greek Ranch is definitely the mild option. If you like spicy food or want a chicken burger paired with a spicy garlic sauce, Fire Hot is probably the better pick. Every time LotteRia releases a new menu item, people keep saying they go for the fries, so I’m curious which opinion will be more common this time. Personally, I was satisfied because the chicken patty kept its crispiness and juiciness, and I also liked the refreshing tang of the Greek Ranch sauce. The build does feel a bit lacking for the price, but the patty itself is well executed, so if you like chicken burgers, I think it’s worth trying at least once.
