The new menu item from Lotteria that I will introduce today is a very Lotteria-like menu! It is the Kimchi Bulgogi Burger. It seems to be a menu inspired by the old “Our Kimchi Burger”! A hamburger using kimchi, which was originally thought of as just a variation of a rice burger, has been released after a long time, so I ordered it right away! Let’s find out what kind of menu it is!

Lotteria Kimchi Bulgogi Burger Price and Features
Although there were a few kimchi burgers released in Korea, the first ones were the McDonald’s Kimchi Burger, followed by the Lotteria Kimchi Burger, and most recently, the No Brand Ham Egg Kimchi Burger! There was also a Kimchi Rice Burger, though I’m not sure if it should be called a hamburger. Still, this menu seems to be a basic menu with stir-fried kimchi.

The price for the Kimchi Bulgogi Burger is 6,500 won for a single item / 8,700 won for a set in-store! The delivery price is 7,300 won for a single item / 10,000 won for a set. The Egg Kimchi Bulgogi Burger is 7,500 won for a single item / 9,500 won for a set in-store! The delivery price is 8,300 won for a single item / 10,800 won for a set. The composition needs to be checked, but the price itself is almost similar to the recently released Squid Alive Burger. I ordered the Egg Kimchi Bulgogi Burger for now.

Lotteria Kimchi Bulgogi Burger Composition
Let’s check the composition first. As with all such menus(?), I carefully unwrapped it, fearing that the sauce might spill out before even opening it. Fortunately, it didn’t spill out much.

However, since the sauce itself is a bit runny, you should be careful not to squeeze it too hard while eating, even if you don’t unwrap it completely, as it might spill out.

When you take a look around, you can see the stir-fried kimchi and sauce composition sticking out on one side! You can also see lettuce and a patty! The composition itself looks quite mild(?).

When you cut it in half to check the composition, it’s even clearer! From the top, there’s lettuce, stir-fried kimchi + sauce, then egg, hamburger patty, and bulgogi sauce.

The fried egg is thicker than expected, and the overall composition is simpler than expected! Given the price, I thought there would be a slice of cheese, but it’s a bit surprising that there isn’t.

Still, since there is the recently released No Brand Burger’s Ham Egg Kimchi Burger, the comparison group(?) is clear! Unlike the honest stir-fried kimchi that was added, I have a bit of hope that this menu might have made the sauce uniquely.

Lotteria Kimchi Bulgogi Burger Taste
Then let’s take a bite right away. The sauce has a distinct characteristic, and unlike the existing No Brand menu with only stir-fried kimchi, it does capture the kimchi flavor well.

However, if there’s one issue, it’s that the stir-fried kimchi and sauce taste like the slightly saucy stir-fried kimchi you get with convenience store lunch boxes! As you eat, it feels like you’re eating a side dish from a convenience store lunch box, minus the bread taste.

Moreover, the combination of the bulgogi burger patty and bulgogi sauce is quite strong, and with the addition of the sweet teriyaki sauce, it might enhance that feeling…

It’s not bizarre, but the taste isn’t particularly distinctive, nor is it easy to say it’s good!

It’s nice that it has an egg, but compared to the No Brand Burger’s composition, which included ham and red cabbage, the taste is somewhat bland. On the other hand, you could say that the strong kimchi + bulgogi flavor, true to the name “Kimchi Bulgogi,” is a strength, haha.

Surely, the sauce is generous, and if you spread the sweet teriyaki bulgogi sauce generously on a frozen beef patty and eat it with stir-fried kimchi, it would taste just like this. Haha, it might be worth trying with additional options like bacon or cheese later!
