Hello. Today’s new Seven-Eleven lunchbox is the Giun Hansang Lunchbox, released as a 2026 Lunar New Year holiday lunchbox. I originally planned to try several new convenience store items before the holiday and review them all. However, due to various circumstances, I only managed to get this after the holiday. So I’m posting a late review. Haha. Still, some Seven-Eleven stores seem to be selling holiday lunchboxes, so it might be worth trying if you get the chance. Now, let’s take a look at what it’s like.
📋 At a Glance
- Product name: Giun Hansang Lunchbox (2026 Lunar New Year holiday lunchbox)
- Brand: Seven-Eleven
- Price: KRW 6,900
- Weight: 433 g
- Calories: 760 kcal
- Main components: Al-tteok steak (Korean pork + chicken), beef bulgogi, four kinds of jeon (assorted jeon, kimchi jeon, vegetable jeon, shredded potato jeon), japchae, spinach-tofu namul, stir-fried kimchi, perilla leaf pickles, stir-fried zucchini — 11 side dishes total
- Overall: ★3.0 — It definitely feels like a holiday table with 11 sides, but the Al-tteok steak texture can be polarizing, and the beef bulgogi portion is a bit disappointing for a holiday lunchbox.
Giun Hansang Lunchbox Price and Highlights
I wanted to review convenience store lunchboxes before the Lunar New Year break. However, CU and Emart24 didn’t take reservations at all. Seven-Eleven only opened reservations on the holiday itself. Still, nearby stores didn’t stock the holiday lunchboxes, so I ended up ordering after the break was already over. That said, it seems some places sell them through late February. So I’m reviewing it for the record anyway. Haha.
This menu was released with the concept of “beef bulgogi and chewy Al-tteok steak, plus namul, jeon, and even japchae.” The price is a premium-tier KRW 6,900.

Now, let’s quickly check what’s inside. This menu has 11 side dishes in total. There are 2 mains and 5 sides. Among them, there are 4 kinds of jeon. On top of that, there are 4 namul/vegetable sides. The mains are Al-tteok steak and beef bulgogi.

First up is the Al-tteok steak, one of the main dishes. Just from the look of it, it resembles the tteokgalbi-style patty you often see in convenience store lunchboxes. They say it uses Korean pork, with a bit of chicken mixed in. It also includes Al-tteok to create a chewy texture. You can even see the rice cake pieces throughout.

The rest includes jeon and japchae. There are four kinds of jeon: assorted jeon, kimchi jeon, vegetable jeon, and, interestingly, shredded potato jeon. The shredded potato jeon and vegetable jeon have a light brushing of soy sauce with chili flakes. As for the japchae, there’s enough for about a bite or two with chopsticks.

The remaining vegetable sides are stir-fried kimchi, a spinach-and-tofu namul, and a third item that looks like perilla leaf pickles. I’m not fully sure until I taste it. The last one is stir-fried zucchini. Overall, it’s a very standard holiday lunchbox. It has meat sides, namul, assorted jeon, and japchae.

Let’s dig in. With 11 side dishes packed in, it really does feel like a full holiday table. Hopefully, the taste holds up too.

I started with the Al-tteok steak, which seems like the key item here. I expected it to some extent. The seasoning is soy sauce-based, but it has a strong convenience-store-style teriyaki flavor. Also, since it’s a pork-and-chicken blend, it felt more like a hamburger patty than tteokgalbi or steak.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThe texture of the Al-tteok itself didn’t seem like a problem. However, there’s more of it than I expected. So it may drag down the overall texture and flavor of the meal. This will likely come down to personal preference.

The beef bulgogi tasted very standard. It uses a straightforward soy sauce-based seasoning, so it was decent enough. However, I really wished there was more of it.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThe jeon was also quite standard, except that the assorted jeon felt a bit skimpy. Of course, jeon in a convenience store lunchbox can’t really stay crispy like freshly pan-fried ones. Even considering that, though, it was fine. Moreover, the shredded potato jeon is something I feel like I’m seeing for the first time since I started reviewing holiday lunchboxes, and it tasted pretty good.

The biggest strength of this menu is the number of side dishes. It really gives you that holiday table feel. With 11 sides, it does feel fairly plentiful. Aside from the slightly disappointing Al-tteok steak, the other sides were good. The namul was also easy to enjoy in small bites.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netSince it’s built like a holiday spread, some sides are a bit salty. Also, the Al-tteok steak’s texture is clearly something people will either like or dislike, so it’s hard to make a definitive call. That said, if you keep those points in mind, it’s a menu worth recommending for solo holiday diners, anyone who wants a meal that feels like a ceremonial holiday table, people who enjoy lots of different banchan, and those who want a balanced mix of classic holiday foods like meat, jeon, japchae, and namul.
