Hello. Today’s ramen I’m introducing is Green Onion Yukgaejang Ramen Cup, sold as an Emart24 PB product and made by Harim. There have been plenty of green onion ramens besides Emart24 that came out and later disappeared. Even among the ones I’ve reviewed, there are quite a few, like Green Onion Yeol Ramen, Hong Ramen Green Onion Cheese Stir-Fried Noodles, and Green Onion Shredded Ramen. Since this one is a cup ramen that recreates yukgaejang using green onion aroma for the broth, I figured it would pair well and bought it right away. Let’s take a closer look at what it’s like.

Green Onion Yukgaejang Ramen Cup Price & Features

This ramen I’m reviewing actually launched back in November 2025. Last November was the year-end season, when new items were pouring out nonstop. So I didn’t even realize it had been released until later. When I looked it up, it had already been out for a while, so I quickly picked one up. Since it’s a green onion ramen, a key feature is the Korean-grown green onion block inside. The price is KRW 1,800.

Green Onion Flavor & Ingredients

It’s not just the green onion block. It also adds green onion flavor in several ways, like green onion powder and green onion extract powder, so it seems like you’ll get a rich aroma. That said, most other green onion ramens do something similar. So the real question is how well it blends with the broth.

Nutrition Facts & Cooking Instructions

The recommended method is microwaving. Add the powdered soup base and the green onion block on top of the noodles. Then pour boiling water up to the fill line and microwave for 2 minutes.

This cup contains 112g in total and has 495kcal. Sodium is at about 94% of the daily recommended intake. Aside from the slightly high sodium, it’s similar to other cup ramens.

Green Onion Yukgaejang Ramen Cup Contents & Preparation

Let’s quickly check what’s inside and move straight to cooking. This one comes with three components: noodles, a green onion block, and powdered soup base. Under the noodles, there are some toppings, including a bit of dried chili and dried meat. Since the green onion is handled by the green onion block, that part seems fine. Still, because the concept is “yukgaejang,” it feels like they added meat because it had to be there.

Microwave Cooking & Final Look

I cooked it step by step as instructed. I placed the green onion block and powdered soup base on top of the noodles, poured hot water up to the fill line, and microwaved it for 2 minutes at 1000W. There was nothing particularly difficult about it.

After cooking, it seemed like there was just a faint hint of yukgaejang aroma. However, when I actually smelled it, it felt closer to a typical red-broth ramen. It even reminded me a bit of Wang Ttukkeong. The “yukgaejang” vibe is a little weak if you judge by the aroma alone.

Green Onion Yukgaejang Ramen Cup Taste Test

Now, let’s taste it. It’s called “yukgaejang ramen,” so the key point is whether it has even a hint of real yukgaejang flavor. Also, I’m curious how it feels with the added green onion.

Noodles & Broth: A Familiar Red-Broth Ramen

The noodles are quite thin, so they go down easily. Still, compared to other ramens, there isn’t a standout point or a clear differentiator at this level. The flavor itself is decent. However, when you taste just the noodles, it’s more “very familiar” than “memorable.”

That said, if you sip the broth on its own, you can catch a slightly sweet green onion aroma. The heat level is a bit mild. It’s about as spicy as the regular Wang Ttukkeong, so it’s less “fiery” and more of a clean, savory punch. It also feels somewhat far from real yukgaejang, which builds its broth with green onion, chili flakes, bracken, and beef.

Closer to Green Onion Ramen

Overall, it really does feel like a green onion ramen. Compared to other green onion ramens, the spice is slightly toned down, so the green onion aroma comes through more strongly. If anything, the Emart Gosarong Ramen that came out recently felt closer to a yukgaejang-like flavor.

A Minor Downside: Green Onion Bits

It’s hard to call these points true “cons,” to be honest. If you erase the word “yukgaejang” from your mind, it’s simply a solid, refreshing green onion ramen. If I had to pick one drawback, it’s the same as with other green onion ramens: the green onion bits get stuck in your teeth. It sounds minor, but it can be surprisingly annoying as you eat. It also makes you wonder if it really has to be made in that shredded-green-onion style.

Overall Verdict

Personally, it was a safe, easygoing option that’s closer to green onion ramen than yukgaejang. It’s not too spicy, about the level of regular Wang Ttukkeong, so it’s easy to enjoy. The clean, savory taste was also nice. Still, despite the name “yukgaejang,” the flavor is closer to green onion ramen, so it may not match your expectations. I recommend it if you like refreshing green onion ramens or want something that isn’t overly intense.
