The new No Brand Burger menu item I’m covering today is the Real Bibimbap Burger, launched on October 30, 2026. True to the name, it puts a patty made of bibimbap, fried until crisp, inside a burger. Add a flame-grilled patty, a fried egg and a rice brioche bun made from rice flour. The sauce is a gim pesto, made by grinding gim (Korean dried seaweed). Together they fit a whole serving of Korean bibimbap into a single burger. It launched at 5,900 won for the burger alone in store, timed to Shinsegae Group’s SSG Day shopping event. After the NBB Hook I reviewed a while ago, I was quietly curious what new attempt No Brand would make this time. So what kind of menu item is it? Let’s find out.

No Brand Burger Real Bibimbap Burger: Price and Highlights

This menu item launched to coincide with Shinsegae Group’s SSG Day. It reportedly reinterprets bibimbap, a signature Korean dish, in the familiar form of a burger, so you can enjoy it easily with one hand. There was already a Lotteria menu item that made the bun out of bibimbap. Even so, the idea of bibimbap itself becoming the burger patty struck me as fresh, so I ordered one right away. Ha. Let’s check the price.

  • Real Bibimbap Burger in-store price: burger alone 5,900 won / set 7,900 won
  • Real Bibimbap Burger delivery price: burger alone 6,700 won / set 9,200 won

It costs 1,000 won more than the NBB Hook (4,900 won). Considering that it has two kinds of patty plus a fried egg, though, it is still a typical No Brand price point. The delivery price, however, jumps suddenly, so keep that in mind. For the burger alone, the weight is 260 g and it comes to 674 kcal, which makes it fairly filling. Sodium is 1,351 mg, about 68% of the daily recommended amount.

Also, if you order a set in the No Brand Burger app, you get 2,000 won off plus a scratch coupon. Buying the new item also reportedly gets you a coupon for up to 3% off Jeju Air international flights. Through November 28, a Jeju Air collaboration pop-up is running at the Seongsu Lab store as well. I ordered the basic set for now. There doesn’t seem to be a separate wrapper, so it was simply labeled ‘Rice.’

What’s Inside the Real Bibimbap Burger

Now let’s take a quick look at what’s inside. The bun alone already feels a little different from a regular No Brand Burger. Perhaps because it’s a rice brioche bun made from rice flour, the surface looked smooth and soft. With two patties inside, it also stands fairly tall.

Of course the domestic market matters for this item, but I also spotted some ads aimed at foreigners. Perhaps because of that, it avoids the unfamiliar route of the earlier Lotteria item, which made the bun out of bibimbap. Instead, it seems to make the patty out of bibimbap and fry it. The aim looks to be a feel somewhat like a rice ball.

Perhaps because Lotteria already has a bibimbap burger, this one reportedly adds a fried egg, which goes well with bibimbap. It also uses gim pesto for the sauce. With all that, I couldn’t help wondering how it would taste.

Cut in Half: The Cross-Section and the Gim Pesto Sauce

Now let’s cut it in half and look at the cross-section closely. From the bottom, the flame-grilled patty and the crispy fried bibimbap patty are stacked. On top come a fried egg, onion, lettuce and the gim pesto sauce. The bibimbap patty is made by pressing rice together and frying it, so the surface is golden brown. Rice grains and vegetables show through the cut, so it really felt like genuine bibimbap was inside, just as the name says.

What stood out is that the sauce is a gim pesto made by grinding gim, not gochujang (Korean chili paste). Bibimbap usually makes people think of gochujang first, but this item’s own signature is that it goes for the savory umami of gim instead. Think of it as a bowl of bibimbap topped with a fried egg and meat, moved into burger form.

Taste Test: Crispy Rice Patty and Savory Gim Sauce

Time to dig in. Right after a big bite, the crunch of the bibimbap patty comes first. The outside is crisp while the fluffy grains of rice inside give a chew. Overall, it felt like a fun cross between nurungji (scorched rice) and a fried rice ball.

The flame-grilled patty keeps No Brand’s signature smoky, fire-grilled flavor subtly alive. It clearly fills in the meaty taste that the bibimbap patty alone might lack. With the fried egg added, it felt just like putting an egg on top of a bowl of bibimbap.

Savory and Mild Instead of Gochujang Heat

That said, if you were expecting the spicy flavor of gochujang bibimbap, it may feel a little mild. The taste leans savory and clean rather than hot, so adding hot sauce to suit your taste would probably work well. Still, the basic umami itself was surprisingly decent.

The gim pesto sauce had a clearer presence than I expected. The savory, slightly salty umami typical of gim goes really well with rice, so the bibimbap feel came through well even without gochujang. Meanwhile, the onion and lettuce add a crunch that keeps the whole thing from feeling heavy.

When the Rice Patty and Bun Get Heavy

About halfway through, there was a moment when the rice patty and the bun stacked up and the carbs felt quite heavy. Still, the lettuce and onion cleaned up my palate along the way, so I could enjoy it to the end. A sip of the cola that came with the set reset things quickly. Ha.

Final Verdict: Bibimbap Convincingly Packed Into a Burger

Personally, I think this item carries out the idea of reinterpreting bibimbap as a burger quite convincingly. The combination of the crispy bibimbap patty, the flame-grilled patty, the fried egg and the gim pesto sauce went together better than I expected. I also liked the detail of making even the bun out of rice. That said, there is no spicy kick of gochujang, so it can feel a little mild to people who associate bibimbap with heat. With rice and a bun together, it is also fairly heavy.

I recommend it to people curious about a different kind of K-food burger and people who like burgers topped with a fried egg. It also suits people looking for a filling burger meal. It feels clearly different from the Lotteria bibimbap burger you may have tried before, so you should be able to enjoy it. For visitors to Korea, it is a way to try bibimbap in burger form.
