Hello! The new No Brand Burger menu I want to introduce today is the two No Brand Global Food Trip items launched under the “Global Food Trip” project in collaboration with Tabasco — the No Brand Smoke BBQ Burger and the No Brand Avocado Taco Burger. They’re a No Brand × Tabasco collab season-limited menu that reinterprets Mexican tacos and American BBQ as hamburgers! It seems to be a menu launched to line up with the North/Central American World Cup (what about Canada?). At an in-store single price of 6,500 won, you can enjoy them with a global gourmet-trip concept, and for a menu aimed at a seasonal moment, the taste was good — I could happily eat both. So shall we take a look at what they’re all about?

Global Food Trip Duo: Price and Features
With this Global Food Trip, two menus were launched as I mentioned earlier. The Smoke BBQ is billed as a “rich BBQ burger loaded with pulled pork” — an American-style hamburger! The Avocado Taco is billed as “an authentic Mexican taco, now a burger!” — a hamburger made with Mexican-style ingredients. Let’s check the price!
- Avocado Taco in-store price: 6,500 won single / 8,500 won set
- Smoke BBQ in-store price: 6,500 won single / 8,500 won set
- Avocado Taco delivery price: 7,300 won single / 9,800 won set
- Smoke BBQ delivery price: 7,300 won single / 9,800 won set
For reference, this menu is a collab with Tabasco! The Avocado Taco appears to have hot sauce in it, while the Smoke BBQ doesn’t particularly have hot sauce — but since Tabasco also makes BBQ sauce, they may have used that instead.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netSince I’m reviewing both menus together today, I didn’t order them as sets separately! I ordered both as single items via delivery. They weren’t all that big, as it turned out! Still, they have some bulk, so they feel fairly hefty. Since this menu is a season-limited release, it wouldn’t be bad to try one to your taste while you have the chance.

So among the two new menus, let’s check the composition of the Smoke BBQ first. As the name suggests, this menu is said to have pulled pork with a smoke-scented BBQ sauce and BBQ meat! It uses a compact sesame-seed burger bun the size of the No Brand Original Burger.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netAt first glance, the bulk isn’t all that big, right? Still, when you actually pick it up, there’s a slightly hefty feel! I think that’s because there’s a fairly thick amount of salad inside, along with pulled pork.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netLet me split it in half and check the composition in detail. First, on top there’s onion, red cabbage, and salad mayo sauce! Underneath there’s pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and the basic No Brand burger bun. Since there’s no separate mention, it doesn’t seem to be a pure beef patty!

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netChecking the official materials, the salad is said to include not just red cabbage but coleslaw too, and looking closely, it does seem so. In any case, with a combination of pulled pork, BBQ sauce, patty, and coleslaw, it would be strange if it didn’t taste good! Haha.

The sauce seems to be a hickory-style BBQ sauce! This is also a product Tabasco makes, so it looks like they used BBQ sauce instead of hot sauce.

Next, let’s check the composition of the Avocado Taco too. This one, perhaps because a lot of vegetables go inside, has a bit more volume than the Smoke BBQ and a fairly thick look. Of course, the flip side is that the balance is a little precarious! The size is the same as the Smoke BBQ Burger.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netBasically, since this menu is a “taco,” it seems they gathered the ingredients that come to mind with tacos and used them as hamburger ingredients. The thing on top of the patty that looks like golden-fried egg is actually not egg but nachos! This idea is quietly nice too, I think.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netSince this menu’s price point is a bit ambiguous, I thought they might have used squeeze-tube avocado or guacamole! What was really surprising is that when you open the top patty, there’s real avocado inside like this. Feeling it, there wasn’t that much moisture, so it doesn’t seem frozen either.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netSo let me split it in half and check the composition in detail. As seen earlier, the top is made up of avocado, onion, tomato slices, and cabbage! It seems there’s no separate salad sauce. And underneath, it’s made up of a picadillo sauce using hot sauce and a No Brand burger patty.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netWith only a slight difference in composition, overall it’s a nacho-taco-style menu with a decent feel, just missing salsa sauce or guacamole, so I have high hopes for this one’s taste too. With the nachos’ distinctive crunchy texture added, it seems there will be fun in eating it too!

So let’s taste the Smoke BBQ first. Its height isn’t that tall, so it was an easy-to-eat type! Taking a big bite, it was definitely a menu where pulled pork blended with a rich hickory BBQ sauce aroma and a fresh coleslaw flavor came together harmoniously.

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netEven though it’s a BBQ-sauce type, it didn’t feel particularly out of place! The burger composition alone is quite well made, and the coleslaw combo cuts the richness quite a bit, so it didn’t feel like much of a burden to eat. It’s not a menu with a huge, generous amount of pulled pork, but on the flip side there was no big burden either, I’d say? Haha. If you like BBQ-sauce-type hamburgers, it seems you’ll enjoy it.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThat said, one slightly disappointing point as I ate was that, even though this menu is the same price as the Avocado Taco, it still felt a bit lacking in value. Given No Brand’s overall value-menu concept, it’s a somewhat pricey menu, and since the menu released alongside it feels more generous, that thought was bound to hit harder when eating them together! Haha. Still, if you like BBQ-type hamburgers, this menu will probably appeal to you more!

Next, I tasted the Avocado Taco too. This menu is on the taller side, so you have to open your mouth wide to eat it! Taking a bite, the taste of the picadillo sauce added to the patty blended with vegetables felt quite nice. Just looking at the composition, it’s not much different from other hamburgers, but a single sauce seems to change the feel, I’d say?

ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.net
ⓒ
Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThe sauce was quite spicy, as you’d expect from Tabasco sauce, but not to the point of being too intense or too spicy to eat! With crispy nachos added on top, the texture was quite fun too. There’s the savory taste of the nachos as well! And the point where avocado gets mixed in here and there, adding a soft texture, was a nice experience too.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netVerdict — The Winner Is the Avocado Taco
Personally, if I had to pick a winner(?) between these two menus, I’d choose this Avocado Taco. First, a single sauce brought out the taco flavor quite well over a basic hamburger composition! On top of that, with the avocado-and-nacho combo added, it was a menu made to feel very good on value too. The slightly spicy taste is manageable even if you’re not great with spice, so if you’re torn between the two, I’d recommend picking this one without hesitation. Do try one of the two menus to your taste! It’ll be a very nice experience.

Q. How much do the No Brand Smoke BBQ and Avocado Taco burgers cost?
Both are 6,500 won single and 8,500 won set in-store, while delivery is 7,300 won single and 9,800 won set. They’re an Ottogi Tabasco collab, season-limited menu from the Global Food Trip project, launched to line up with the North/Central American World Cup season.
Q. How are the Smoke BBQ and Avocado Taco burgers different?
The Smoke BBQ is an American BBQ style, adding hickory-style Tabasco BBQ sauce to smoked pulled pork and coleslaw. The Avocado Taco is a Mexican-taco-style burger, adding spicy Tabasco picadillo sauce to real avocado, crispy nachos, and onion, tomato, and cabbage — and both use No Brand’s flame-grilled patty.
Q. Which of the two is tastier? Is it very spicy?
Personally, I recommend the Avocado Taco. The spicy picadillo sauce, plus the crunch of the nachos and the softness of the avocado, made it feel good on value too. The spiciness is manageable even if you’re not great with spice. If you like a rich BBQ flavor, the Smoke BBQ is well made too, so pick to your taste.
