Today’s new Seven-Eleven item is the Si-kyung Pick Jeonju-Style Beef Bibimbap (bibimbap is a Korean mixed rice bowl). It is one of the first lineup items in the Si-kyung Pick seasonal bibimbap series, made in collaboration with Sung Si-kyung. It was the most basic item among the Si-kyung Pick bibimbap. With several menus coming out so quickly, I ended up reviewing it last. (There has already been news of yet another new item since then. Ha.) Stir-fried beef and assorted namul (seasoned vegetables) with egg strips sit on top. A secret gochujang (Korean chili paste) is added to make a classic Jeonju-style bibimbap. Let’s find out what it’s all about.

Jeonju-Style Beef Bibimbap: Price and Highlights

This is the most basic item among the Si-kyung Pick bibimbap menus on sale since September 2026. Seven-Eleven is quietly serious about bibimbap, so I bought it right away, trusting that the basics would be solid. The price is 4,700 won, which is very affordable. Preparing it is simple too. In a 1,000W microwave, heat only the rice for 30 seconds, or 40 seconds in a 700W one.

It is the cheapest in the Si-kyung Pick bibimbap series. It weighs 400 g in total and has 665 kcal, which is plenty for a meal. Convenience store lunch boxes often cost well over 5,000 won these days. So a bowl of bibimbap packed with namul in the 4,000-won range seems like a pretty good deal.

What’s Inside the Container

Let’s take a quick look at what’s inside. Around the center, each outer compartment holds one topping. The gochujang and sesame oil sit in the center. Going clockwise, the compartments hold zucchini, egg strips, carrot, soybean sprouts, spinach, shiitake mushrooms, radish namul and stir-fried beef.

Stir-Fried Beef and Five-Color Toppings

The main item, stir-fried beef, is made from finely minced meat cooked in a soy-based seasoning, so it mixes evenly through the bibimbap. The shiitake mushrooms are sliced thick and sprinkled with sesame seeds, and they look quite meaty. The zucchini is cut into half-moons and stir-fried, so its green color is vivid. The egg strips are thinly cut, bright yellow and generous in amount. The carrot is also julienned and stir-fried, covering the orange. Soybean sprouts, spinach and radish namul fill in the white and green.

The rice sits in the compartment beneath the toppings. It doesn’t seem to come with a fried egg this time.

Heating the Rice and Mixing It Up

First, I heated only the rice for about 30 seconds in a 1,000W microwave, then placed all the toppings on top. Next, I added all of the gochujang and drizzled the sesame oil around the bowl once.

Mixing it wasn’t hard at all. Since only the rice is heated and the toppings are simply placed on top, it feels a little thick at first. Once the hot rice loosens up the gochujang, the aromas of sesame oil and gochujang rise together as you mix. My appetite kicked in right away.

Overall, seven kinds of namul and toppings are arranged in five colors around the stir-fried beef. It is the classic look of a Jeonju-style bibimbap, brought over to a convenience store lunch box.

Taste Test: Sweet-Spicy Gochujang and Savory Beef

Now let’s dig in. The first bite brings the sweet-spicy flavor of the gochujang first, followed by the salty umami of the stir-fried beef. The gochujang is neither too spicy nor too salty, with a slight mellow sweetness. That makes for a balance that is easy to enjoy without any fuss.

The beef isn’t a large amount in proportion, but it is finely minced, so every spoonful had a little beef evenly mixed in. The shiitake mushrooms had a chewy texture and a strong mushroom aroma, so they made their presence felt with every bite. Personally, the shiitake was my favorite part of this lineup. Ha.

I also liked the variety of textures. The crunch of the soybean sprouts and radish namul, the softness of the zucchini and the fluffiness of the egg strips mix together. Even a single bite is fun to chew. Another plus is that the heating time is short, so the namul doesn’t wilt and keeps its crunch.

Even past the halfway point, the rice stayed fluffy and never turned mushy. The gochujang coated the grains evenly, so the flavor didn’t fade to the end. However, since it is mostly namul, it may taste a bit light to anyone who wants a strong meat flavor.

Final Verdict: Clean, Classic Jeonju-Style Beef Bibimbap

Personally, it felt like a menu that honestly captures the true taste of bibimbap rather than a flashy flavor. It is a lunch box that fits perfectly when you want a clean, non-stimulating meal. You can also adjust the amounts of gochujang and sesame oil to your own taste, so enjoy it your way.

The sweet-spicy gochujang blends well with the textures of the various namul, and the chewy shiitake mushrooms were the highlight. However, the beef isn’t very generous, so it may be slightly disappointing if you were expecting a meaty, hearty meal. I recommend it to anyone who wants a clean meal, who loves namul bibimbap, or who is looking for a good-value lunch box in the 4,000-won range. For a first taste of classic bibimbap from a Korean convenience store, this 4,700-won bowl is an easy place to start.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much is the Seven-Eleven Si-kyung Pick Jeonju-Style Beef Bibimbap?

It costs 4,700 won, the cheapest in the Si-kyung Pick bibimbap series. The bowl weighs 400 g in total and has 665 kcal.

Q. What does the Jeonju-style beef bibimbap taste like?

Personally, I felt it honestly captures the true taste of bibimbap rather than a flashy flavor. The sweet-spicy gochujang, the salty stir-fried beef and the textures of the namul blended well, and the chewy shiitake mushrooms were the highlight. The beef isn’t very generous, though, so it may disappoint if you expect a meat-heavy meal.

Q. How do you prepare it?

Heat only the rice in the microwave, for 30 seconds at 1,000W or 40 seconds at 700W. I warmed the rice briefly, added all the toppings, then put in the gochujang and sesame oil and mixed. The short heating time also keeps the namul crunchy instead of wilted.
