The Monster burger has always had a quietly devoted following at Burger King Korea, thanks to a build that never pretends to be light. After a long run of variations, it is back in Maximum form as the Burger King Monster Maximum. In-store pricing starts at 11,900 won for the burger alone, and true to the Maximum name you can pick anywhere from one to three beef patties. The chicken has been upgraded to a Chicken King fillet, and the Diablo sauce that gives the Monster its identity is still in there. I’ve liked the Monster line for years and reviewed a fair few of them, so expectations were high. Let’s see how it holds up.

Monster Maximum: Price and What’s Changed
The headline is simple: the already-heavy Monster build has been pushed up into Maximum territory, and that alone got people talking. Maximum beef patties, an upgraded chicken patty, and the Diablo sauce that carries the Monster’s identity all sit in the same burger. Here’s the in-store pricing.
- Monster Maximum : 11,900 won single, 14,100 won combo
- Monster Maximum 2 : 15,300 won single, 17,500 won combo
- Monster Maximum 3 : 18,500 won single, 20,700 won combo
Worth knowing: ordering through delivery apps like Coupang Eats or Baemin adds roughly 1,000 won on the burger alone and about 1,500 won on a combo.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThis runs as a limited item from 19 August 2026 through to 23 February 2027. As of 19 August, the official app was offering a 3–5% coupon at welcome tier. Time being short, I ordered delivery. I usually take the Maximum burgers with one or two patties, and this time I went with the Monster Maximum 2 again.

Let’s look at what’s in it. Other Maximum items have felt similar, but the weight registers the moment you pick up the box. Being part of the Monster line, my two-patty order came out feeling as heavy as a three-patty burger from elsewhere. Unwrapped, it looks like the Monster you know, and yet slightly different.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThe Chicken Is Now a Chicken King Fillet
The beef stays exactly as it is in the existing Maximum range. The chicken, on the other hand, has moved from a minced breast patty to the Chicken King fillet. That makes it noticeably thicker, and the shape of whole thigh meat comes through, which is a real point of difference.

The red Diablo sauce from earlier Monsters is present and correct, and so is the bacon that used to be standard. Across the variations, from the Monster 2 with whole shrimp to the smoked barbecue edition, the bacon kept appearing and disappearing. Bringing it back feels like the right call for the burger’s identity.

Let’s slice it and go through it properly. From the top down: onion, lettuce, the white sauce that acts as a salad dressing, Diablo sauce, the Chicken King fillet, bacon, then the Maximum patties. With two beef patties in there, the height alone is already substantial.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThe Diablo sauce is sharply spicy without ever tipping into painful. That should offset the richness and the slightly heavy feeling in the throat that big Maximum burgers can leave. A single patty is usually already a lot for one meal, and that expectation is part of why I went double this time.

On to the eating. I cut it in half and lifted one side, which weighs about as much as a regular burger on its own. One bite in, the sheer density of it made an immediate impression, exactly as the first look suggested.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThe Chicken King Fillet Impresses
A Monster is already awkward to bite into, and pushing it to Maximum makes a full-width bite genuinely demanding. Anyone who has missed that dense texture, though, should be pleased to meet it again. The Chicken King fillet brings real juices too. It is no match for what KFC or Mom’s Touch put in their chicken burgers, but it is a clear step up from the oversized nugget that used to sit in the Monster.

Add the deep flavour of the flame-grilled Maximum beef and the heat the Diablo sauce brings, and it never becomes a slog to eat. That said, the burger is so substantial that the sauce starts to feel a little scarce. Three patties would probably tip it over. One or two should be fine.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netUnlike some Maximum burgers that went viral purely for being tall, this one is genuinely enjoyable to eat. As noted, the Chicken King fillet, the smoky flame-grilled beef and the salty bacon combine into something where the meat and the juices really register. With the Monster sauce adding its own heat on top, the balance holds up across the whole burger.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netThe One Sticking Point Is Price
If there’s one disappointment, it has to be the price. Ordering delivery, a Monster Maximum 2 combo on its own already came close to 20,000 won. Best to set value for money aside on this one. People say burgers have become the budget option as other restaurant prices climb, but at this level you’re paying roughly what a whole fried chicken costs.

Copyright PAKOC https://pakoc.netFinal Verdict — Treat It as an Occasion
My honest advice is to approach this as an occasional treat rather than a way to fill up cheaply. Anyone who already loved the Burger King Monster should go for it. The pairing with the upgraded Chicken King fillet works remarkably well, and you’ll eat properly. For Burger King fans, and for anyone who likes a burger with real volume behind it, this is an easy recommendation. Visitors to Korea should note it is a local release rather than a global one.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How much is the Burger King Monster Maximum?
From 11,900 won for the burger and 14,100 won as a combo, in store. Maximum 2 runs 15,300 and 17,500 won, Maximum 3 goes to 18,500 and 20,700 won, and delivery apps add roughly 1,000 won on the burger or 1,500 won on a combo.
Q. How many patties should you actually order?
One or two is the sweet spot. My two-patty order already weighed as much as a three-patty burger from another line, and at three the sauce starts to feel outnumbered by the meat.
Q. What changed from the older Monster burgers?
The chicken is the big one. A minced breast patty has been replaced by the whole-thigh Chicken King fillet, which is thicker and far juicier. The Diablo sauce and the bacon both stay, and the beef is the standard flame-grilled Maximum patty.
