Today’s new KFC item is the God Soy Tongdari, launched on September 8, 2026. God Soy Chicken, a KFC Korea fall-season regular, is back for the fifth time, and this year it adds a boneless whole-leg (tongdari) version for the first time. KFC also says the God Soy sauce, a sweet-and-salty soy glaze over crispy fried chicken, has been upgraded, so I ordered it right away out of curiosity. Let’s see what it’s like.

Just when I decide to order it, it gets discontinued, and just when I forget about it, it comes back: God Soy Chicken has returned once again. KFC seems to see it as a very Korea-friendly item and promotes it hard, so I sometimes wonder why they don’t just make it a permanent menu item… Anyway, a new option gets added every time it returns, and it’s pretty tasty, so I keep ordering it. Ha. Let’s start with the prices.

The Tongdari costs about 100 won more per piece than the bone-in God Soy Chicken. Since it belongs to the boneless whole-leg line, the price is a little higher. There’s also a good range of combos. The God Soy Kep Snack adds nuggets to the God Soy Tongdari, the God Soy Tender Bucket adds tenders, and the God Soy Single Box and God Soy Ultra Box even include a Twister or a Zinger, so there are plenty of options whether you’re eating alone or sharing.

I ordered 5 pieces of God Soy Tongdari along with 1 piece of God Yangnyeom Tongdari (the sweet-spicy sauced version).

Even with the sauce, the batter stayed crispier than I expected. That said, sauce-coated chicken naturally gets soggy over time, so I recommend eating it as soon as it arrives. After two or three pieces, the sweetness started to feel a little heavy. At that point, a side like cola or coleslaw cleans up your palate so you can enjoy it to the end. Ha. I had ordered a yangnyeom piece too and alternated between them, which worked surprisingly well!

I felt the same way in my last Tongdari review: personally, the best part is getting the full God Soy flavor without the hassle of picking around bones. If you like soy chicken, you’ll be satisfied, but if you prefer spicy or bold flavors, it might feel a little mild.
